A/N: A little something, something I'm making for another one of my older, other favorite cartoon. : )
Please enjoy while my laziness is still in tact.
Raven's Shadows
Raven fell far and hard, plummeting down until the black abyss. The fall halted once she finally reached the ground. She groaned and picked herself up, dusting herself off.
As she looked around, she realized it was dark, creepy. Mysterious.
Where am I?
It certainly wasn't her bedroom. It was pitch black, and she couldn't see a thing.
She walked straight ahead, but the road just seemed endless. Where was she going? As a matter of fact, where was she?
She didn't know where, or what/who she was going to encounter, let alone.
When she walked to a certain point ahead, her face slammed against an invisible wall. She used her hands to feel around in front of her. Nothing but a solid wall.
The least the stupid place could have was a flashlight or a lantern.
She decided that since she'd reached the ending point the long way, she mind as well have turned left or right to see where it ended down there.
So she walked. And walked. And treaded on, but still, it felt oblivious, endless, forever.
Where's the way out?! Where's Starfire?! And Robin?! And Cyborg and Beast Boy?!
Where is everyone…?
The whole place was silent. Not a crow was cawing, not a noise was stirring. The mice were silent; the bones of a skeleton never rattled. She was alone.
She was alone in a dark place, unfamiliar with her surroundings. Unfamiliar with where she was.
No one was around to help her.
"Hello?" she called out, a cry for help.
But no one responded except for her echo.
"Anyone there?"
And not a sound in response.
And the ground shook and shuddered beneath her feet. She stood as still as ever, balancing herself like a plank over the aftermath. A bright light flashed, and she closed her eyes to avoid being blinded.
"Like father, like daughter," Her father's voice summoned itself in her head.
"No," she mumbled and fell to her knees, hands clinging over her ears, trying to block out the noise.
"The prophecy must be fulfilled."
"Damn it! No, I said!"
"You don't get it, do you? You're just like me, no matter how much you don't want to be."
"I'll never be like you! Never!"
His laughter bounced around her head and she squeezed her eyes shut.
Come… I will show you the ways of the evil.
"No! I'm a Titan! I refuse! I refuse to give into you!"
You are family! You will continue my work! That is why you were created!
"But… but Robin said…"
Robin was wrong! Your friends are wrong! They think you're a freak! They think you're weird! Creepy! A fool! But I know you. You smarter than that, just like your dear old daddy.
"No! No! Go away! You can't! You… you can't…!"
His laughter roared, grabbing at her legs, clawing at her skin, drawing blood.
She screamed at the pain of sharp nails tearing her flesh.
"Raven!" he called out, over and over. "Raven, Raven, Raven!"
"Go away, damn you!"
"Raven, Raven, Raven, Raven, Raven, Raven!"
"I said GO AWAY!"
"Raven!" Robin shook her by her shoulders over and over
"WHAT?!" she awoke and yelled in a fury at her friend in front of her. Her nightstand, dresser, and stone heads all froze completely. Raven and Robin clutched their arms and shivered.
When they recovered, Robin turned toward her.
"Are you okay? You've been shouting in your sleep again."
"Uh… yeah. I just… I have to learn to control my new powers better."
"Yeah, I hear you. Freeze power is a dangerous thing. Come on, get dressed everyone's waiting for you."
Robin smiled at her and walked to her door, shutting it.
"Uh… yeah," she mumbled, crawling out of her bed. Just when she stepped toward her dresser, a shadow flew underneath her bed….
A/N: There you go! A short little one-shot, but hey… better than nothing right?!
