Prologue
It all started in 1999. It was a cold-blooded war between the humans and vampires. There was great bloodshed, oceans of blood and thousands died. No one knows for sure how long it lasted or who really triumphed...but I do. Me and the five other survivors of our race. The brutal conflict left the six of us to fare on our own. Three boys and three girls.
We were unprepared for the war and were risking our lives living on earth and attempting to mingle with humans. But some way or another we were caught and were exposed of our true identity. They came at us with guns and other high-tech weapons; we had only our hands and gifts to protect us. It didn't help that we were greatly outnumbered by our rivals. For every one of us, there were ten of them. We fought hard, using our supernatural gifts to assist us. But even then, my comrades perished- their cries of sorrow and pain stabbed me like knives. We had underestimated them. They were the vulnerable, the mortals. We were supposed to be superior, the gods we sometimes called ourselves. The six of us, knowing the humans were cutting us down one by one, flitted away to the forests to find refuge from our enemies.
We stayed there until we could no more hear the cries of vampires, until we could no more hear the constant shooting of guns, until all was silent. We didn't know if any others had managed to escape while experiencing the inevitable. Doubtful. But if so, I swear one day we will all meet at the battlefield. And take back what our loathed enemies stole. Until then; there is only one thing on my mind, on our minds:
Revenge.
