Yeah, this is my first fanfic or attempt at writing :) So I'd be really grateful if you could drop me a review and tell me what I could do to improve; Thanks for reading this.
Gwen is not Bens cousin, would it really have such a huge effect? Story starts at the beginning.
Tick. Tock.
Tick. Tock.
1 more minute to summer vacation...
Tick. Tock.
A black haired boy had all of his concentration focused on the single piece of A4 in front of him.
A fold there.
His green eyes drifted towards the clock.
30 seconds to go.
Another fold. It was finished, his masterpiece, his... plane?
15 seconds...
The boy lifted his plane, cocking his hand backwards. He had 5 seconds left in his personal prison and he was free for 3 months. He threw his plane, watching it fly, free like he would be soon. The bell rang but the plane had spiralled out of control, little did this boy know that his summer would spiral out of control too...
The plane had hit the teachers head, but the green-eyed boy was already halfway out the door.. freedom, he could smell the fresh air of the summer, so free...
"Benjamin, could I have a word with you before you go..?" Asked the teacher, tapping her foot impatiently against the wooden floor. In her hand she held... his paper plane. Oh he was so... busted.
Ben
was free, he had no school for 3 months and he was going on a camping trip - Just him and his Grandpa Max. He had been looking forward to this trip for the entire year, as he rarely got much time with his Grandpa due to him being away on his plumber business. But not anymore! Ben had 3 months now and he knew that his Grandpa had finally called it time to quit his job and put his feet up. It couldn't get much better, the sun was shining, a small breeze blew through trees and ruffled the leaves... The perfect image was ruined by the two local bullies, who had pinned their regular target against the tree.
"Normally we'd take your money AND beat you up, but since it's the last day of school we're gonna give you a break! Now fork over the cash!"
Ben wasn't going to take that, he didn't like seing people bullied especially when he could atleast try to help.. that was the one lesson he'd learnt from his grandfather. He could atleast take one of them out. But apparantly it wasn't neseccary..
A teacher had strolled out, doing her duty to make sure there was still no smoking on the premesis, or that the students did not loiter. The bullies did not seem to notice this and did not see the teacher behind them, apparantly hearing their entire 'conversation'. Needless to say; they earned themselves a detention on the last day of school and a phone home.
Ben's grandfather had just pulled up to the curb in 'The Rustbucket'. It wasn't much to look at but it always felt like a second home whenever he went on trips with his grandpa.
"C'mon Ben lets go! We're burning daylight. I wanna make it to the camp-site before daylight."
"I have so been looking forward to this..!" Ben trailed off as he noticed who was sitting in the other chair. It was his Mom's best friends daughter. Gwen. His grandfather had been best friends with Gwen's Grandfather. Ben didn't mind her he supposed, he didn't really know her that well except that she was... smarter than him. Which wasn't much of an achievement but you wouldn't hear that from Ben.
"What is she doing here! What is SHE doing here?" Sure, it sounded kind of rude but he had waited for this trip all year. Was it too much to ask that he got 3 months alone with his Grandpa?
"Take it easy, this wasn't MY idea. Someone convinced my mom that going camping for the summer would be a good experience for me." replied Gwen with an irritated voice, a pointed look at 'Grandpa Max' and a fold of the arms. This was going to be a LONG Summer.
