"Hey Stiles,"Scott leaned against the door frame, watching Stiles flip through some large photo album. "What are you doing?" Scott was worried about Stiles. Scott wasn't sure why but lately, stiles hasn't been himself. He did just mysteriously disappeared from the lacrosse game, showing up with a giant cut on his face, and lying to Scott about what really happened. Maybe it's too much for him. Stiles has been strong from the beginning, maybe its starting to catch up to him.
"Looking through my photo album." Stiles replied. Stiles turned the page and a look of sadness crossed his face. He looked up at Scott, and his eyes were a bit watery. "It's the anniversary."
Scott knew what that meant, and he cursed himself for not realizing this sooner. Stiles rarely ever like to show his weakness or sadness, but always around this time of year, he would make an exception. This is when his panic attacks start showing up, and the only time Scott ever notices signs of depression from Stiles. Otherwise, Stiles is as strong as ever.
Scott walked over and sat next to him. Stiles took the picture out of its fold and held it close. Scott looked at the photo. It was a picture of his mother, holding a two year old Stiles with the Sherriff holding them both. They looked like a happy and caring family.
"Sometimes I wonder what would life be like if she were still here."
"You know she's always here no matter what."
"Yea. I know." Stiles started picking at the corner of the picture. He would put his nail on the crease, pull his finger back, and let it go. It seemed to be the only thing keeping him from crying.
On the fourth or fifth flick, only half of the picture went back. The other half was still in Stiles' hand. He used his other hand, gripping both sheets with his thumbs and pointer fingers to pull the two pieces apart. Stiles looked at the photograph underneath the first one, very confused.
The picture showed another woman, holding a baby. The woman had red hair, the exact color of the princess Ariel. She was pretty, had good features, and looked very happy. But the baby... It wasn't Stiles. The baby's eyes were green, not brown. And his hair was a little darker than his own.
he showed Scott the picture, while Stiles pulled out another picture.
"who is this?" Asked Scott.
"I don't know." Stiles began picking at the corner of another picture. The same thing happened with the first one, half of it went back and another picture was revealed. Stiles examined the photo. It was with his dad this time, wearing a suit, next to the same women in the first picture, wearing a wedding gown.
Many other pictures had secret ones behind them. All had the women with the red hair or the baby with the green eyes.
"Did my father have another family before he met my mother?" Stiles asked Scott, like he would know the answer.
"It looks like it. But who are they?"
"Where are they now? And why would my dad want to hide all these pictures?"
