(so sweet-sounding, is it not?
everything about him is so, so saccharine.)
"Good morning, darling," Marth Lowell softly purrs, his simple greeting sounding so beautiful to Shulk Caldwell, who held the bluenette tenderly in his arms.
"Good morning, dear," the Hom replies, his words soft as a feather as well, his slender fingers entangled in Marth's currently-messy blue locks, eyes focused upon shining, oceanic blue orbs. He smiles at the bluenette, smiling and enjoying the sweetness that gracefully left Marth's lips.
"Did you sleep well?" Marth continued, the charming voice melting Shulk's heart, coming out so saccharine and syrupy that it flowed easily, making simple words and statements and questions so pleasant to the ears. His voice was so mellifluous, so sweet like a pot of honey.
It fit him, Marth Lowell, so well. Marth Lowell, the always rhapsodic prince that was a mix-match of maudlin feelings and mawkish beliefs, the physical embodiment of kindness and gentleness and love and care. Marth Lowell, able to intenerate the hardest of stone hearts and bring out the brightest light out of the darkness. All of these traits combined to make him, that beautiful, humble prince that the lowly Hom couldn't help but fall in love with.
The honeyed voice was the delicious icing on the wondrous cake.
"I'd slept quite well, since I slept next to you," Shulk answered, adjusting himself that he was huddled closer to the lithe prince, smirking at the blush that painted Marth's cheeks pink. "How about you?"
"W-well, I'd slept fine. Th-thank you for asking."
Even when stuttering and stammering, Marth spoke ever-so-cutely. The light flush that deepened every moment was an added plus. Shulk sighed contently as he listened to Marth excitedly describe what he wanted to do for the day, the sing-songy voice being a relaxing tune in his head.
His voice was so mellifluous, so sweet like a pot of honey.
Well, here's the first birthday!fic for you, LK! I hoped you like it~ It's fluffier and sugary than what I'm used to writing, hee hee! Short and sweet, too, since shortness and sweetness go hand-and-hand…if that made any sense at all.
Happy Birthday, Happy Birthday~!
