Inuyasha bolted through the woods, occasionally taking to the trees to get back faster. He had been hunting in the farthest reaches of his forest when he caught the familiar yet out of place scent on the wind.
"There's no way I should be smelling this! The well has been closed for 3 years! Someone's gonna have some explaining to do when I get back," he thought to himself.
Reaching the village he raced straight through, ignoring the calls from the villagers and his friends. Inuyasha was getting closer to the source of the smell that had him so confused and he was not stopping to chitchat with anyone along the way. He slowed his pace as he neared the clearing where the Bone Eaters well sat, coming to a stop just along the edge to sniff the air one more time before he stepped out of the forest. Sure enough, there it was, the same smell, only stronger now and mixed with a scent he couldn't forget if he tried.
Walking toward the well he saw Kagome after so many years, doing the oddest thing. She was sitting by the well, making ramen like it was the most natural thing in the world. He reached her side and she looked up, giving him the most beautiful smile he had ever received.
"Are you hungry?" Kagome asked him nervously.
"Keh," was Inuyasha's response as he snatched her off the ground and crushed her to him.
