Prologue

Ugh, what happened? It feels like I've been hit in the head by an eighteen-wheeler truck!

Sitting up, Troy slowly opened his eyes. He looked around.

"Where am I?" He whispered, narrowing his eyebrows worriedly.

Trees among trees surrounded him. It was nightfall and the wind was blowing quite heavily…

"How did I get here?" Troy pondered. He didn't remember ever stepping foot in the woods.

Why was he here?

Troy could barely see anything. He could barely even see the palm of his hand in front of his face.

What was he going to do? How was he going to get out of here if he could hardly see?

Shit, shit. Um…

Troy stood up and hastily turned his head, trying to find some sort of opening. There was none. He was stuck in here…

What if his parents were wondering where he was? They were probably worried sick now! He had told them that he was going to Gabriella's house and it's quite obvious that he's not there now!

Shit, what was he going to do?

It was then he realized something…his phone! He had forgotten about that! Yes!

Troy reached into his back pocket, expecting his phone to be in there…only to be gone.

Great. Now what was he going to do?

I guess I should just…walk? Yeah! That's it, then maybe I'll find a way out of here!

Troy started walking, careful not to bump into any trees. The leaves crunched loudly as he stepped on them. His eyesight was becoming increasingly better the longer he was in the dark.

He had no watch so he couldn't tell exactly how long he had been walking. All he knew was that he was tired and wanted to get home. He wanted his parents and most of all, see his girlfriend.

Sighing, Troy continued to trudge through the woods. For some reason it felt as though he were walking around in circles. He wasn't though. For a few minutes later, he was facing the road.
