I Love You Too Late
I always wanted to protect them.
I was their leader.
It was my job.
No, that wasn't it.
My friends, my family.
I wanted to keep them safe from any harm.
But I always wondered how far I would really go.
Now I know.
She didn't see it coming.
How could she?
I reacted.
Then I was thrown back.
She held me in her arms.
Her brown-red eyes scanned my wound.
And then she started to cry.
My sister held my hand.
She was crying too.
My friends were all around me.
They were all shocked…and scared.
Even Izzy and Matt looked about ready to cry.
They were all talking to me.
My sister told me I'd be okay.
I knew she was lying.
Then all I could hear was her voice.
She said she'd tried to tell me forever…
I was only half-conscious,
But I heard her last words very clearly.
"I love you Taichi."
They were the only words I'd ever wanted to hear.
My world darkened.
I looked at her face one last time and smiled.
"I love you Sora."
