Massie Block – ready for her close-up and to take BHS by storm as the leading lady and singer in every play. Is not prepared to have competition. Worked too hard for what she has now to give it up.
Derrick Harrington – is used to running the curtain but got his fame when his understudy role went through and he became the lead. In love with Massie and used to shining with her. Not ready to shine with somebody else.
Alicia Rivera – best ballerina at BHS and can prove it. Trying to kill herself after not getting the part and being left with scars to remind her might knock her down a few spaces.
Dylan Marvil – starved herself to fit into tiny uniforms and float to the best spot. Might get there after Alicia's choices. Her backup is always there - violin.
Olivia Ryan – played dumb through middle school so nobody would suspect her of being good material. Natural talent for singing and acting. Massie's next murder victim due to open jealousy of what Olivia was born with.
Chris Plovert – won every girl's heart with his voice and lyrics. Spent too much time hiding in the library. Ready to shine brighter. Too bad he's in love with Kemp. One-sided love is known to dull your shine.

Kemp Hurley – never without a video camera to record every move that goes on. Ready for his big indie filmmaking break.
Claire Lyons – spent all her time taking pictures and wishing she were a main character instead of an extra. Finally found her friends that never pressure her to be normal.
Kristen Gregory – hid behind her cello for years because she couldn't face anybody. Anxiety has ruined her. Is ready to fix herself in a very strange rock band.
Dempsey Solomon – found Kristen at a support group for teens struggling with anxiety disorders and never left her side. Wants to do more with his life than paint set pieces.
Layne Abeley – Kemp's filmmaker best friend. Been pressured to be with him but she's dating Meena. Life may possibly be linked to a steady supply of comics, chocolate and hair dye.
Cam Fisher – beat his depression after middle school ended. Is ready for a nice, relatively normal year. Never expected his depression to come back to bite his ass.

Meena Shamshiri – walks with a severe limp and has plenty of time to watch people. Her way with words and anonymous blog make the school think twice. Don't underestimate her. Can't sing or dance or act, but costumes, makeup, and violin are easy.

Heather Johanson – living with her grandma because her parents died. Only wants to be an actress. Can't get past the minor roles.
Strawberry McAdams – is the clumsy dancer and out of tune singer. All she's good for is the double bass and giving business to the piercing store.
Renae Wilson – compulsive liar that changes identities and stories like normal girls change shoe size. Formerly Carrie Randolph. Is ready to slip into high school and break some hearts.
