Richard Castle sat at his desk staring at his computer. This act alone wasn't unusual, but what brought him to the eBay homepage was. He picked up a stuffed animal to the right of him and stared at it in his hands. 'It didn't have to be like this' he thought, replacing the animal in front of a picture on his desk as he typed 'Stuffed Animal - never used' in the title box of the add. His mouse rolled over the submit button, but he couldn't do it. Not to her. Not to himself. She had given their lives for his, despite everything they went through together. He picked up the animal once again, placing the photograph face down, and submitted the add; holding the stuffed animal for the last time.
