My Johnny got whipped out!
Saki thinks of that first day more and more often as she gets older. Even the faint smell of her favorite perfume brings back memories so vivid she needs to closer her eyes to breathe in the nostalgia. The playful banter, that half-hearted punch she gave his shoulder, the giggles at the top of the escalator in a crowded airport. She knew almost nothing about him that day.
I'm Morimi Saki.
But she still told him her name. If Saki had done something different that day, how different would her life be? If she had never given Akira her coat? If she had never gone to Washington D.C.? Would he still have found her? Would she be happier? It's strange to think that her life today was shaped by utter coincidence. She would rather believe that he would have found her somehow. That somehow, fate intended for Saki to meet the man called Akira who no longer walked right beside her.
Could it be that you're my prince?
There were so many possibilities that day, so many loose threads she could've picked. Saki wasn't sure about many things that happened in relation to Akira, but she knew one thing for certain- it was her good fortune to meet him, whoever he really was.
