Leopardstep looked around. She had heard a yowl but didn't know where it came from. She had been on patrol with Darkpaw and Heartcloud. She had lost the apprentice and warrior but it didn't matter to her. She sniffed and found a faint trace of Fernstripe. She traced it back and found the White she-cat lying in a pool of blood.
'Fernstripe!' Leopardstep yowled and ran over to the Warrior.
She had scratched on her cheeks, legs, belly everywhere.
Just then Darkpaw appeared.
'Leopardstep what the matter?' Darkpaw asked.
'Fernstripe has been attacked!' She yowled and turned to the apprentice. 'Help me get her back to camp.'
The Dark apprentice nodded, grabbed her scruff and pulled Fernstripe towards camp. Leopardstep grabbed her scruff as well and helped. It took a while before they got to camp, but they did get there. They pulled her through the Gorse tunnel and Leopardstep heard Littlefern yowl.
'What happened to her?!' He asked.
Leopardstep let go of her scruff and turned to the apprentice.
'Take her to Poppystripe.' She ordered.
'Yes Leopardstep.' He meowed.
'I do not know what happened to her but whatever it was it is bad.' She meowed.
Just then Mothstar came out of her den.
'What happened?' She asked.
Leopardstep went over to her leader.
'Fernstripe was attacked.' She meowed.
'By what?' Mothstar asked.
'No idea.' The she-cat sighed.
Just then Jaypaw and Gorsepelt ran into the clearing all blooded and matted.
'What happened?' Leopardstep asked.
'W-We were attacked.' Gorsepelt meowed. 'By an eagle, and it killed Dreamflower.'
'No not Dreamflower…' Mothstar meowed. 'She was a brave and loyal Warrrior.'
'From now on no apprentice leaves the camp with atleast a warrior and no kits are allowed to leave camp!' Mothstar yowled.
By now all the warriors, apprentices, kits, Queens and Elders had come out of there den.
'Jaypaw and Gorsepelt, go and see Poppystripe.' Leopardstep meowed.
The Warrior and apprentice ducked their heads before going towards the medicine cats den. Just then the clearing was filled with a bird call.
A brown eagle fell in and the queens scooped up their kits and ran into the nursery.
'Elders and apprentice in the dens now!' Leopardstep yowled.
The cats did as they were told and ran into their dens.
'Warriors attack!' Mothstar yowled and her Warriors ran forward and attack the eagle.
Leopardstep was one of the first to do so and she attacked its wing.
The Warriors followed. Mothstar and her Warriors fought hard and soon had driven off the eagle. Many had been injured and only a few had died. Leopardstep had an injured paw and a scratch on her cheek. She limped over to Poppystripe and see saw Mothstar inside.
