As he sets her down onto the bench he wonders briefly, for a moment, if she'll be alright like this. But he doesn't have the time to take her anywhere else, so this will just have to do. She says his name as he releases her, a quiet hushed whisper of a word and it twists deep in his heart as he backs up from the bench, leaving her there as he turns and walks away without looking back. He doesn't need to see all that he's leaving behind, because he knows already. She needs more than he is able to give, and maybe somewhere down the line she'll find it in someone else. Because loving him will only cause her pain. His mind is too consumed with his hatred and his vengence that there is no room for her in his life until that need is sated. Keeping his eyes directed in front of him, he walks away from her and Konoha and his life here and everyone and everything that he's known. Shoving his hands into his pockets his fists clench tight for a moment as he makes his way towards the village gate. He knows he's made the right decision despite the ache in his chest telling him otherwise.
