The Giver: Else Where
The next time Jonas had awoken he was in a room on a plain white bed, there were these sounds and he was attached to a monitor of some sort "Help, Help" Jonas had called out and frightened. A woman had walked into the room with a friendly smile, Jonas eased at the sight of her and his face was curious. Jonas could remember the day when the giver gave him the feeling of curiosity he felt so eager to discover everything in the setting that the giver had gave him. Jonas immediately snapped out of his thoughts, "Excuse me miss but can you help me out of here?" The woman had replied with "I'm sorry Jonas but you can't leave the hospital until your body fully recovers from hypothermia." Jonas slightly pouted and then suddenly remembered that he came here with Gabriel, he sat up on the bed and pushed his eyebrows together. He looked for a nametag or something on the unknown woman that was helping him so far when he found the golden nametag on her white nurse coat it read "Nurse Lucy". "Nurse Lucy, do you recall of a new child being with me?"
Jonas's voice was filled with concern as he asked the question seeming to worry more about Gabriel than himself at this point. She furrowed her eyebrows then she relaxed her face and replied "Ah, yes there was a child with you, he is in another part of the hospital but you cannot see him until you are well." She says while picking his arm up and putting an IV in his arm. "Ouch!" Jonas screamed as the feeling was painful more painful than the sunburn he had experienced. Even after the pain the thought of Gabriel not being with him was making him uneasy because of the simple fact that he was in an unknown place and he was experiencing a "hospital" for the first time in his life and Jonas knew that he had to get out of it sooner or later. The nurse had left and Jonas was just lying there contemplating on how to escape from the hospital, the hours passed and he was getting quite weary of listening to the sounds that the machines were making. The next move Jonas had made was to move out of the room with the IV in his arm and the machine, every time he took a step forward he felt stiff all over. Finally he had made it out into the plain egg-shelled painted hallway, as he moved through the hallway barefooted feeling the cold floor beneath his feet, he noticed drawings on the walls as he gotten farther down the hallway. At the end of the hallway there was this room and the room had a number the number was "201" Jonas had entered the room to find Gabriel occupied with a comfort toy and joyfully smiling. "Gabe." Jonas had whispered softly to him, Gabriel had immediately looked up and smiled. "Jonas, come and play with me!" He had replied with joy in seeing Jonas after a long time. "Shh, I'm here to rescue you." Jonas had said while walking towards the child's bed and picking him up along with his comfort toy. Jonas and Gabriel had escaped the hospital with ease and they were never seen or hear from again.
