Surprise
A BBE Oneshot
A/N Today is June 27 the day Hermione and Sev got married. I decided to write a quick little oneshot to celebrate!! Just as a side note, I'll post little chapters like this every once in while for different occasions. The reason why I have them is because they were all alternate epilogues that I thought up. The next one will probably be posted the day I first posted BBE.

Hermione stepped out of the cottage door where she lived with her husband, Severus Snape. Her parent's had given it to them as a wedding gift and they had been living there for a little over a month. She wandered over to her flower bed that was bursting with summer blooms. The geraniums were looking wonderful and the petunias were still as bright as ever. She carefully water each plant by hand making sure each received there due. She was so caught up in her work that she failed to hear Severus approaching.
He smiled slyly and covered her eyes with his hands. He let out a resounding laugh as she jumped with surprise.
"Sev!" she squealed happily, "I didn't realize you were home!"
"Well I am, and I have a little surprise," he said mysteriously.
"Show me!" Hermione said delightedly.
"Keep your eyes shut," Sev instructed. He removed his hands and was pleased to note that her eyelids were squeezed tightly over her eyes, "Good, now hold out your arms."
Hermione complied and she could hear Severus take a few steps away from her. As she heard him open up what sounded like a cardboard box, she could feel her own anticipation as well as his. It must be something good if he were excited too. She strained her ears and thought she heard the sound of claws scrabbling against the box but she wasn't sure. Just one second before Severus deposited it in her hands, she knew what it was.
"A cat!" she cried as she opened her eyes to see a dainty white kitten in her arms, "Oh Sev, it's beautiful!!"
He smiled and stroked the cat's silky fur. Secretly he let out a sigh of relief. She liked it!
"That is perhaps the sweetest most thoughtful gift anyone's ever given me!" Hermione exclaimed and kissed him full on the lips.
Although taken slightly by surprise he was more than willing to respond. A tiny mewing interrupted and the couple looked down at the tiny ball of fur. She had just opened her sparkling blue eyes and was taking in the sun light. She turned to look at her new owners and gave another mew. Wasn't it time to eat?

A/N Really short I know, but it was only ever meant to be an epilogue. It's also rather pointless, but I enjoyed writing it so there you go.
