L walked in with a sharp shrug. Really he couldn't believe that Watari had him on this one. His tooth hurt, yes, but going to a dentist was totally, utterly and completely unnecessary. Not that he had asked him to go; he just dropped him at the door and told him he'd pick him up in an hour. Clever old man.
The detective sighed as he knocked softly on the door.
"Come on in!" A high pitched, female voice rang through his ears.
The pale skinned man suppressed the need to run for cover before the screech deafened him.
"Good evening, Mr…"
"You can call me "L"."
Her blue eyes stared at his odd denomination.
"Umm. Mr. L, Doctor Yagami will see you in just a…"
The intercom rang twice and she picked it up swiftly.
"Doctor Light? Yes. He's arrived just now. I send him in? Ok. Love ya!!!"
L sighed inwardly as he stared at the blonde secretary. Poor, poor doctor. Having this intense oddball blonde as a subordinate must be such a pain!
"Mr. L. Please come in. Doctor Yagami is in the third door, the one in the right corner."
"Thanks."
He walked sturdily toward the indicated spot. What shocked him was the unusual attractiveness of the man who received him as he came in. Softly tanned skin, vibrant brunette strands falling neatly off his head and two shinny and beautiful brown orbs that captured the detective.
"Do sit down. " The young man said, politely, as the pale one stared, nearly stupefied.
L did everything he ordered for a good half an hour until Doctor Yagami spoke again.
"It seems to me Mr...Sorry, what's your name again?" The beautiful, brown haired dentist said, looking into his mouth.
"I go by "L"."
"Hmm. Just a letter? How odd. Oh, it seems to me you've been eating way too much sweets."
"What? Is eating too much sweets bad?"
"Not for your... (the doctor looked for the right word, scanning his body up and down) complexion, but it is for your teeth."
L stared at the doctor, puzzled. Did he just check me out? Me? No way…must I be delusional.
"What am I supposed to do? I can't stay up all night if I don't have my coffee and sweets! " L said, pouting.
The doctor almost chucked, his brown eyes shimmering with amusement.
"Well, Mr. L. You'll have to find a suitable replacement for something to keep you up all night long..."
Is this guy antisocial or what? Can't he see I'm TOTALLY hitting on him? God...I'm so lame... Doctor Yagami thought exasperatedly.
"What else could possibly keep me up? I could use taurine drinks...hmm or perhaps..."
Doctor Yagami sighed as he put his cold fingers to his patient's chin.
"I have a couple of ideas, and I certainly wouldn't mind showing them to you..."
L's black gaze seemed lost.
Really, the boy is devilishly cute and he lives in a cave or something. Light Yagami smirked. The only thing that's great about it is that when I bang his brains out, I'll have him all for myself…
The doctor pulled on the intercom as he spoke to his secretary.
"Misa?"
"Yes, Doctor Light?"
"Cancel tonight's appointments. " Light stole a side glance to the provocative figure that now analyzed his office.
"And tomorrow's as well, please."
"Yes, sir. " She hung up as she chimed a tune in high pitched voice.
"And now..." Light turned to face his adorable patient...who was actually feasting on the lollypops he gave younger kids after he'd taken a tooth out.
"You shouldn't be sucking on...that. " Light murmured, slightly annoyed.
As much as he was going to enjoy this it was going to be difficult.
The detective was now perched on the seat, attacking his third lollypop.
"What are we going to do?"
Light almost banged his head against the wall. Almost.
Yes. Too difficult indeed.
