Me Fall Down
Jackie's parents had come over to Nick and Jackie's house for dinner. After dinner the adults played board games at the kitchen table while the kids played in their rooms, all except for Karlie, who was in Jackie's arms contently drinking a bottle.
Pretty soon Jasmine came down the stairs in tears.
She went over to her grandma.
"What's wrong sweetheart?" Jackie's mom asked.
"Me fall down." Jasmine responded.
"You did, I'm sorry, did you get hurt?" Jackie's mom asked as she picked the child up and put her on her lap.
"Yeah."
"What did you hurt?"
"My hiney." Jasmine told her.
"Oh, your poor hiney."
"Yeah." Jasmine agreed as she shook her head sadly.
Suddenly Jasmine's little face brightened a little.
"Gammy kiss my hiney?" She asked.
All the adults burst out laughing.
"Funny?" Jasmine asked sounding confused.
"Yes you're extremely funny." Nick told her.
Seeing all the adults laugh made Jasmine herself burst into a fit of giggles which just made the adults laugh harder
. A couple minutes later Jasmine got off of her grandma's lap and went back upstairs to continue playing, her hiney apparently felt better.
"Look her hiney is all better and I didn't even have to kiss it." Jackie's mom said once Jasmine had left the room.
Once again the adults burst out laughing.
"You never know what is going to come out of that child's mouth, just when I think she can't possibly top herself she does." Nick said with a smile and a shake of his head.
One thing was for sure, there was never a dull moment when Jasmine was around.
