The Doctor was hunched over the center console, rapidly pushing buttons and pulling levers. "No, no, no...No! Not here, definitely not here! Anywhere else!"
Leaning against the railing, Amelia Pond straightens up.

"What's the matter Doctor? Where are we going?" She knows what happens when the Doctor is upset and it's not good.

"Well, it seems that we are headed right in the middle of the American Revolution. We have to be careful, remember everything you learned in school. We can change the outcome of the war. Amelia Pond, we have to make sure that everything happens as it's supposed to." The Doctor said frantically.
The TARDIS groaned and landed on the bank of a river.

Amelia stuck her head out of the TARDIS. Turning back inside, she asked "Where are we?"

"Rome, New York. 1774. The siege of Fort Schuyler, well, now it's Fort Stanwix. Part of the Three Prong Attack from the the British."
"Wow. It's not even America yet."
The Doctor joined his companion outside. He took a deep breath. The air was warm and humid, with a slight breeze that didn't exactly cool one down. Around them were trees. The Doctor started to say something but got interrupted by shouting. Briskly, the Doctor set off towards the sounds, Amelia close behind.
"They're the British." He warned.
"What's wrong with the British?" Amelia defended.
"Amelia, this is no time for patriotism. And Nothing except this is the 'American' Revolution. And in this particular battle, they lose."
They walked on, to the camp. A soldier stopped them. "I am the Doctor, and this is Amelia Pond. And you had better lower your gun." The Doctor said before anyone could ask.
" Yes, sorry. Hello, miss." The soldier said.
"Hello."
"Oh, Scottish, eh?" the soldier asked. "If you don't mind me asking, what is a lady like you doing wearing that?"
Amy looked down and realized she must look very strange to him, in her faded jeans and red shirt. "I was um, working in the stable when, er, the Doctor asked if I wanted to come here with him."
"Are you two married?" This made Amy blush. Good thing Rory isn't here.
"No, I have a husband. He's a friend of, um, my husband." She shot a nervous look at the Doctor. The Doctor nodded in agreement and elaborated. "Yes, her husband, Roranicus, also known simply as Rory, and I traveled together when we were younger."

"And where is this Rory?" The soldier inquired.

"He's on a business trip back in London. Been gone for a month. The house is lonely without him and Melody, our daughter. I have more time now to work in the gardens, though his horse is getting restless without Rory." Amelia made up.

"Colonel, I have some loyalists who wandered into camp." the man the soldier was addressing got up and walked over.
