I challenged myself to write something that expressed Sams feelings on what the quest did to Frodo with as few words as possible.
Not sure if I succeeded but what do you think?
Sams Lament for Frodo

Too much,
He can not bear the load,
He can not bear the pain
But he must.

Too far.
He can not feel his feet,
He can not hear my voice
As I call.

Too wide.
He can not cross the road,.
He can not walk that far
All alone.

Too long
He can not see the end,
He can not reach the goal
Without me.
.
Too late.
He can not let it go,
He can not let it fall
On his own.
.
Too hurt.
He can not see the light,
He can not feel the pain
In his hand.
.
Too much.
He can not live again,
He can not forget all
That he has done.
.
To sail.
He can not linger here,
He can not hope to rest
At home again.
