Here we go. I've been itching to write this for a long while. Well, having had done some research into the real Moulin Rouge, I discovered that some of the stories of the dancers were just as exciting as Satine's. The real Moulin Rouge really did have featured dancers, like the Sparkling Diamond on the movie. The first of which being Louise Weber, known as "La Goulue". I hope to continue this and move on to the other dancers, next being Jane Avril. Review and enjoy!

Btw, this idea and the idea of the true stories of Moulin Rouge dancers are © me, please don't take my idea. Also I in no way claim this is the actual exact story, but it is based closely on true facts. But you knew all that, right? J

*edit* I added some to the beginning, and reposted this. Please folks, review! This is really pathetic.

An old woman lay on the steps of the old chapel, her limp white hair in strings across her forehead. She was discovered by the priest, he helped her indoors. She was dying, and she knew it. Pulling the young priest close to her world weary face she said:
"Please father, let me tell you a story."

The men, the lights, music pulsating through her veins, everything was spinning.
"La Goulue" someone shouted. Turning to face him Louise, more commonly known by her stage name 'La Goulue', lay back on the table she was dancing on and kicked the man's hat off, catching it on her toes, this being her trademark trick. The men clapped and she went back to her rowdy seductive dance, the chahut.
*Author's note: the chahut is a form of the cancan.*
She led her group of male followers to the bar.
"Any challengers?"
The crowd of men pushed one red headed young man forward and he clamored up onto the bar to stand beside her. She reached to her left and the bar tender handed her two full pints of beer, and she handed one to the boy beside her. Tipping her head back she downed the entire mug in less than 10 seconds, her challenger just beginning. This continued on until her challenger was face down on the bar, out cold, and she was victorious, once again proving her rights to her stage name La Goulue, which translated literally meant 'the glutton'.
Throwing her stout body into the crowd, they carried her across the room to the stage.
"I come home in the morning light" she sang, dancing about and lifting her polka-dotted ruffled skirt to expose the red embroidered heart on her panties.
"My mother says when you gonna live your life right
Oh mother dear we're not the fortunate ones
And girls they want to have fun
Oh girls just want to have fun!"
The dance continued and the men went wild.
"That's all they really want
Some fun
When the working day is done
Girls-- they want to have fun
Oh girls just want to have fun!"
She ended with a dramatic high kick, sending one man's hat flying and dramatically finishing in the splits.
