Author's Note: This is my first time writing a fic in a looooooooooooooooong while. I figured instead of reading so many Zelda fics I might as well try my hand at writing one again. Let me know what you guys think!

Disclaimer: I do not own Zelda, Nintendo does. I may throw some new characters in here somewhere, though I haven't decided yet. I made up a new country though!

Prologue

The clouds. That was what stuck out to her the most. They rolled and darkened faster than she had seen before. The wind picked up and gave her a chill, more so from the sudden fear that took her than the cold. She frantically paced around, waiting…but for what? Or for who? Her emotions were in turmoil and she couldn't tell why. It was hard to think properly for the warning in her heart. Absently, she closed her window to stop the breeze and shuddered. Her worry increased as the thunder started. This storm would be bad, but perhaps that was a bit of an understatement.

She found herself next to her door and opened it as silently as possible, checking outside. Where was he? His absence only served to increase her worry. She wanted to cry. She was so tired of waiting! Her nightmares had only become more potent with his distant journey, and every day she spent alone made it worse. When she wound up at her window again, she looked out and gasped audibly.

The field of Hyrule was in utter chaos. It was the only word she could use to describe it. It was a scene from her nightmares playing out before her. The armies of death and despair marched towards the Castle gates, the guards lining up to face their doom. Her heartbeat quickened as they clashed, and the mark on the back of her hand burned. She looked down at the Triforce; a moment frozen in time. When she could break her gaze away, she saw light beaming up to the sky from the seven Temples and her fear threatened to choke her. The Temples reactivating like this bothered her more than the Hero's disappearance.

Suddenly, the sky turned to a deep black and streaked with purple lightning. At the center of it all, a winged creature exploded from the clouds. She gasped in horror at the sight, clutching her chest as her heart pounded. As the thing descended to the field, a burst of golden light lit up the ground to intercept it. What did this mean? The mark on her hand pulsed in response to the incoming darkness as the light grew brighter. The sudden silence was halted with a piercing scream as the scene before her went black.

A/N – Tell me what you think! Of course the Chapters themselves will be longer, no worries!
