A/N: Even though I am not a big fan of Anne Boleyn her execution always evokes sympathy in me for her tragic end and I was inspired to write this poem about her death.

stained with blood

like ink stains on parchment

stained with lies

Death has come to take innocent life

Atonment for sins against the Kings Majesty

Atonment for failure to keep a promise

on a platform of wood

Last words spoken steady

in courage,

in dignity

with lips that shall never move again

"Good Christian people, I am come hither to die",

Suferring will come to an end

kneeling upright

under Death's icy hand

One last haunted look

with blue eyes that shall never shine again

French steel

whispers through air

and the end is here.
