A/N: Yes. I have Where There's a Wolf There's A Way. And yes. I read the whole thing. I got it in the mail on the 20th. Pretty exciting. (:
Anyway, SPOILER ALERT. If you are in the middle of reading WTATAW, or haven't started yet, don't read this. It's probably the biggest spoiler you can imagine.
Melody smiled and looked back down at the letter. Marina was her mother. And she was next living next door for a week. (A/N: How long was it? Do you know?) This was probably the closest they've gotten since her birth.
Melody was just finishing her thought when she heard footsteps coming down the stairs. She whipped her head around faster than Willow Smith and smiled even brighter than she was before.
"Jackson!" She screamed and ran around the couch to tackle-hug him, but before she could, her stuck a single hand out, stopping her like a traffic conductor.
"Woah, woah, woah. I know you've been missing your boy, but this isn't him right now."
Melody rolled her eyes. "Hey, DJ. Have a nice, hot shower?"
"You got it." He winked at her and flashed the same smile that he used to give Frankie. Jackson never smiled like that. It was the number one way Melody could tell them apart.
"Well, you've been around for a while now, but Jackson has been blacked out that whole time. Go stand in front of the refrigerator so I can talk to him." Dj immediately obeyed Melody, just like she expected. A few seconds later, she was hugging her boyfriend in the middle of his kitchen.
"I missed you so much," She mumbled into his clean shirt.
"Even though I don't remember ever leaving, I missed you too," He whispered back. "What's that?" He pulled the letter from Melody's back pocket and speed-read it.
"Oh! I forgot. You'll never believe this, but I'm RAD!" She practically screamed.
"Wait, what? You're a RAD? Is Candace too?" He crinkled his eyebrow in concentration.
"Um, long story short, I was adopted. My mother was the lady renting your house while you were gone. She left this note saying that I was a RAD! I'm something called a Siren, and I can control people with my voice."
Jackson stared at her, like he couldn't believe it. At least Melody could rely on him to not freak out.
"It's true. Watch. Jump up and down five times." Jackson immediately started jumping.
"Spin around." Jackson spun.
"Okay, okay. I get it. You're a Siren. Now stop, I'm getting dizzy." Jackson gave her a silly grin and took her hand.
"One more. Kiss me." Jackson leaned forward. Melody stood on her tiptoes and wrapped her arms around his neck.
"You didn't have to command me to do that one." Jackson whispered.
And then, their lips touched.
