A/N

I own nothing,

but a rhyme or two.

I don't earn money,

I write for myself

and, dear reader,

You.

I'm the ache created from your guilt.
I'm the bitterness in the blood that was spilled,
the animal lurking from the inside
That's sneering at your pride.

More complicated than your best potions,
More twisted than your deepest emotions.
I'm your tongue telling lies,
I'm the shadow, your disguise.

I'm your presence in the corridors through the night,
I'm there, to extinguish every light.
The distorted reflection in the mirror that you see,
Look a bit clearer, you'll realize that's me.

I'm in the sharp letters that you write,
I'm in every curse you invented for a fight.
But the reason you never flinch, never fear,
Is because I'm always here.

I'm that gleaming silver doe,
I'm your friend, not a foe.
Always there, even when you were facing the Dark Lord,
Giving you comfort, hiding behind your high walls.

I was not in the word you have once spoken,
Though I lied to myself, the love was never broken.
I loved your passion, your flame,
When you were later always defending my name,

Don't hide yourself, like you're stained.
Beneath your walls you're still the same.
That shy boy in large clothes,
Looking so alone, so lost.

Your hair is hiding you like curtains.
Black outfit resembling darkness.
Your eyes like tunnels are deeper than a Black Lake.
You're cunning and sly, like a snake.

You cannot hide from me, Severus Snape,
I know there's a loving heart under that cape.
I've seen it once, your heart.
It is me who tore it apart.
