'There's nothing more boring than watching Betty go up and down that hall with those files. Oh wait. Maybe hearing Gisele Bundchen give advice on diets is,' Amanda said as she bit into her pencil. She was writing some invitations.
'Look on the bright side, maybe if she keeps running like that down the hall she'll finally lose that baby fat,' Marc commented leaning on her desk.
'Isn't there a saying about how snakes change their skins but not their…how did the last part go?' Amanda wondered. 'Oh well, that reminds me. I got a little secret to tell.'
'I'm all ears.'
'So I was heading for the cafeteria to see other people stuff their faces so I'll get disgusted enough not to eat anything until 3 in the afternoon when I saw Nico in Wili's office. And she was talking in French on the phone to someone pretty big by the looks of it, otherwise she wouldn't have mentioned French Mode and Isabella.'
'No!'
'Yes.'
'But that's just…incredible.'
'I know! With her skills and looks I bet Wilhelmina will have me replaced in three seconds,' Amanda complained, her shoulders sagging.
'No, silly! Don't you see what Nico did? She saved her mother's job, otherwise Wili would have been replaced by Isabella faster than you could be replaced by Nico.'
'Stop saying that, what if it actually happens!' Amanda said her eyes widening. 'Well, at least I'll always have my slutty body to fall back on but I don't know how much that's going to last.'
'Hey! What did I say about the taboo subject? We do not talk about that subject!' Marc said pointing his finger at her.
'Old age?'
'I told you not to say it out loud, Amanda.'
'What's the use of looking like a model for five years?' she asked depressed.
'Five years is still a lot,' Marc remarked.
Amanda made a face and turned her back.
'What is it now?' Marc asked bored, rolling his eyes.
'Tell me something to make me feel better.'
'Fine…but I'm encouraging your egocentric streak far too much. Daniel's new secretary had the manliest shoulders in the history of manly shoulders. She was like Conan the barbarian wearing a pencil skirt,' he said, a devilish smile on his lips.
Amanda brightened up and grinned.
'That hateful little woman with cheap plastic purses, yuck. Blonde girls are soooo annoying,' she said throwing back her golden hair.
Marc raised an eyebrow. 'Coming from you, that's saying a lot.'
