"Mckay always acts like an idiot around attractive woman." Sheppard said before taking a gulp of his drink.

"I do not!" Mckay quickly defended waving his fork around.

"Do too." Sheppard responded rather childishly.

"He's fine around Teyla." Ronon pointed out causing to shake her head but smiled.

This stopped Sheppard in his tracks "Well we don't know what happened when they first met. He might have acted like an arse then."Mckay scowled over at him.

"You weren't there?" Ronon said surprised.

"Nope." Sheppard took a bit of his steak surprise, the surprise being they had no idea what kind of meat it was.

"Actually."Teyla said getting their attention "he pushed me out of the way of a..."

"Modified wraith stun beam." Mckay supplied.

"Yes a modified wraith stun beam, he introduced himself and I told him who I was then he said 'nice to meet you' then went to yell at Dr Kavanaugh for setting off a weapon that wasn't ready for test fire after he had specifically told him not too." Teyla finished smiling fondly.

"See not an idiot."Mckay said "Now Kavanagh he's a whole different story."

"So you've never been attracted to Teyla?" Sheppard just wasn't going to let this go.

"No! That would just be...weird and.....no." Mckay said without thinking.

He looked up to three raised eyebrows and a mildly offended Teyla. "I'm not saying Teyla isn't attractive because she is, she's beautiful in fact but she gave me that look." Mckay attempted to explain.

"What look?" Sheppard asked eyebrows furrowed.

"That look that only two other people have ever given me. The disapproving look, the one that tells me to be quiet, to calm down, to listen, to stop messing around, the look that says a lot of things." Mckay said.

Ronon and Sheppard nodded knowing the look well "But that still doesn't explain why you weren't attracted to her, she gives everyone that look and loads of people are attracted to her. And if you know she's attractive...it just makes no sense."

Teyla frowned at them for discussing the look not realising she was giving it to them.

"Because the two other people who have given me that look are my mother and my sister Jeannie. I guess she just reminds me of them." Mckay shrugged apologetically.

"Oh." Sheppard pondered this for a moment "You're right that would be weird."

"Yeah." Ronon agreed.

"More Jeannie than my mother, that could be because I don't really remember my mother or it could be because Teyla is just as patient as Jeannie." Mckay mused aloud not noticing the way Teyla smiled at him.
