The sweet scent of her perfume still stuck in his nostrils after all these years. The memory of what she was wearing that night still drilled into his mind. She had a piercing on her nose, and was sporting a shiny pink lipstick. Her hair was messy and she had a rip in her Motley Crue shirt. She had been drinking that night, and was a little tipsy - he had caught her balance a few times, and was met by her Emerald eyes embedded into that porcelain like face. Her mouth lifted at either side and she gave him a flash of dazzling white teeth, hiccuping afterwards and giggling like a little girl. He wistfully thought of nights like this that they would have - tucking her into bed when she'd had too much too drink, and cuddling on the sofa, and Christmas mornings and late nights out with friends.

Although she seemed like a disaster, Audrina was still beautiful to Aro. In fact, Audrina Dread was the most beautiful girl in the world to him. He had waited so long to find another being who shared his love and passion for life, music and blood, and he found her.. And lost her .. He sighed and gazed out of Castle Volturi's wide windows overlooking Volterra's starlit night sky.

" Billions of stars and you could be under any one of them, my Princess .. " he whispered. " I swear I'll find you soon. I swear. "

Felix bounded in the room, striking a paw-like hand on Aro's shoulder, giving him a half smile.

" You're not still thinking about that Half-Blood, are you ..? " He snorted and guffawed loudly at the words "half blood".

Aro scowled at him, and stormed away to the privacy of his bedroom. He sat on the edge of his large four-poster bed, and sighed. His mind wandered back to that night that he'd realised Audrina was gone. His hands started to tremble at the thought..

" 'Drina..? 'Drina..!?" He called. He walked into the billiard room, looking all around the literature-lined walls. Audrina's book was lying on the table, she'd been telling Aro about it for a while. He sauntered over and picked it up, opening the pages. His eyes widened at the words before him

"Aro - read this when you are ready to let go. I wish I could have you, but you know I would never hurt you." His brows furrowed into a downward line, and he opened the next page, reading intently the story which had been hinted to him for so many months.

"Once upon a time there was an ugly duckling, named Audrina. She was not like her family, because when she was born, she was left half ugly and half beautiful. All her life, she had one friend, one person who meant more to her than the earth she drank and ate from, the moon that sang lullabies to her every night, and the stars that watched over her as she dreamed of being beautiful like everyone else.."

Aro snapped back to reality, shaking the memory from his mind. He had to find her..
