Trouble.

That was the only word that could easily be used to describe Seto Kaiba.

Yet Mai Valentine found herself drawn to him like a moth to a flame. This attraction could very easily be just from the end of the Battle City tournament, yet time after time she foolishly went back to him.

Since the day they crossed paths, dear Mai was a sheep following to the slaughter.

If asked, she wouldn't even be able to tell why she found herself drawn to him. There was nothing about the CEO that she should have found appealing in anyway. Simply being near him put her immediate danger for gossip fodder.

It should have all been enough to send her running in the other direction.

But it wasn't.

Plenty of times, she had threatened to leave. Never once did she stay away for long. She hated herself each time she came crawling back. It wasn't ever a relationship that Mai kept returning to. Shameless flirting and the occasional sincere compliment was all there was between them.

There was no emotional attachment on his part. But Mai being the foolish woman she was found herself more or less fond of Kaiba despite how self-centered and rude he was. All because he said one thing but his smile seemed to say another. It was that one small factor that kept her returning. Even Mokuba had high hopes that maybe; just maybe, she could make a change in him.

But that hope never lasted long as she found herself threatening to leave quite frequently. It wasn't just a threat to leave every now and then, it was swearing that this would be the last time he saw her every time he was near. After her short periods of absence from him she'd be fine for a short time before being reminded of what pushed her away in the first place.

She was losing herself, losing who she was and what she wanted more and more each time she went back. He was her drug, her addiction. Try as she might to shake him, it was impossible. She was stuck. Worst of all, she was stuck with him.

The one time she had managed to break away without any snide comments about how she'd be back threw her off guard. It was then that Mai realized that she was completely obsessed with Kaiba and could never actually leave.
