Disclaimer: I don't own Fireman Sam.

Deep in the heart of the Welsh village of Pontypandy, there was trouble brewing.

A little old lady was standing worriedly at the foot of the single tree in her front garden. Her cat was sitting on one of the branches. The silly animal had gone climbing up there, chasing birds - and now he couldn't get down.

"Meow!" cried the cat.

"Don't worry, Puss!" the little old lady called up to him. "I've called the fire brigade! You'll be bought down from there in no time!"

NEE-NAW! NEE-NAW! NEE-NAW!

The little old lady jumped as a siren suddenly started blaring loudly through the street. She peered past the tree to see a bright red fire engine tearing down the road, it's blue warning lights flashing.

It wasn't just any old fire engine. It was one that was very well-known among the folks in Pontypandy; Jupiter!

Sat in the driving seat, steering madly towards the scene of combination, was none other than the hero next door himself - Fireman Sam!

"Hang on, Madam!" He called to the little old lady through the window as he drove straight towards her house. "I'll have your cat down from that tree in no time! Everything'll be alright! You can count on-"

It was only at that moment when Sam realised he was supposed to stop Jupiter. He quickly slammed his foot on the brake - but was far too late.

Jupiter broke through the wooden fence of the little old lady's house. It tore across the front lawn - making deep tyre marks in the turf - before crashing hard against the trunk of the tree.

With a terrified yowl, the cat leaped down from the branch. He was just in time as the tree came falling down - before landing on top of who was stood before it.

"Great fires of London!" Sam exclaimed, alarmed. He leapt out of Jupiter to take in the horrific sight that awaited him.

The little old lady was laying crushed under the fallen tree.

That wasn't what bothered Sam; he was more dismayed to see the heavy damage to the front of his beloved, trusty fire engine.

"That's going to cost me a fortune to fix," he groaned. "It's either lose Jupiter or miss out on the holiday to Florida I've been saving up for."

Making up his mind on what to lose, Sam took out a match and struck one, preparing to throw it onto Jupitar and leave the place before a fire broke out. It would be the first one he'd start and not put out.

"Oh well..." Sam smiled. "I can always get a new fire engine."

The end.
