Okay, my friend gave me this idea, so I have to say thanks to Shannon. This
might suck, because I'm using both the book and the movie and since the
movie added stuff on, it might be a bit weird.
I wrote this in Legolas' point of view in Helm's Deep.
Disclaimer: As much as I don't want to admit it; I don't own The Lord of the Rings.
I stood next to Gimli as the Uruk-Hai came closer and closer to us. Having Gimli next to me comforted me. I looked around, and noticed all the young boys that were forced into war. Their fear was obvious, and same with the older men. 'They should be scared' I thought to myself. 'I should be scared too.' But for some reason I'm not. As I looked down at the army of Uruk- Hai, who were very close now, I wondered how we're going to win this war. It seems impossible.
I looked down at Gimli who was jumping up and down, trying to see what was going on below him. I smiled. Gimli looked up at me, with a worried look on his face. "This is going to be a long night" He said, somewhat calmly. I nodded in agreement.
The Uruk-Hai army finally reached the wall and they just stood there. For a moment I wished I never was apart of this Fellowship. But that thought vanished quickly. I really was glad I was apart of the Fellowship. I stared at the Uruk-Hai, as Aragorn was yelling directions out to everyone. I closed my eyes and took in a deep breath.
My thoughts went to Frodo. 'Where could he be?' I wondered if he was okay. I stopped thinking about him when I looked back down at the army of Uruk- Hai. "This might be the longest night of our lives." Gimli looked up at me. I got ready to shoot my first arrow. I slowly pulled it to my bow, and shot it into the army of Uruk-Hai.
