So, you were captured by a GARDEVOIR, were you?
Don't worry, RED! GARDEVOIR will most likely take very good care of you!
It isn't terribly unusual for this sort of thing to happen.

I took a few liberties, even beyond the obvious fabrications...this is based more-or-less on Gen1 interactions, but with a Gen3 pokemon. Also, I don't know if Gardevoirs ever show up in any Safari Zone. That's simply the only place where Wild Pokemon interact directly with a trainer and not the trainer's own Pokemon.
