And He Winked
A Danny Phantom FanFiction by Nano Phantom
I watched intently as Danny sucked the ghost into the Fenton Thermos, then he closed the lid and turned to me, and he winked. I felt the same way every time he defeated a ghost and ended the battle. It felt like the physical and mental work it took to help Danny defeat the ghosts was all worth it, just to see him wink at me like that.
Danny walked over to me, "Thanks for finding the thermos for me this morning, Sam." Yeah, physical and mental work. "I forgot I left it at your house yesterday. If it weren't for you, I'd still be fighting Technus right now." He blushed.
His untidy white hair moved with the light breeze. I tried not to giggle as I blushed along with him. It was the perfect moment. Danny, lost in thought, dropped the thermos on the concrete sidewalk and it released the ghost. Technus cackled and flew off. Danny noticed nothing and continued blushing at me. Yes.
A couple of perfect minutes later, Tucker walked up and tapped on Danny's shoulder. No. "Danny, I programmed Sam's specter deflector to shield the entire park, and I put it in reverse, so Technus won't be able to leave the park.
Danny transformed back to human and glanced at Tucker with a do-not-care-at-the-moment look on his face. "Relax, Tuck, I trapped him in the thermos already."
"Ah, dang it," Tucker murmured under his breath, turning to his PDA, "I mean, congrats on another ghost capture, Danny."
"Um…thanks."
Danny exhaled, and a pale, blue mist drifted from his mouth. He shouted, as usual, "Going Ghost!"
He transformed back into Danny Phantom and ascended about fifty feet up in the air. From the ground, he resembled a large, glowing green star against the speckled evening sky. I stood there, gazing up at him, mindlessly thinking about ahead of time what woody banter he would use. My subconscious mind constantly tells me that it seems rude for Danny to talk to a ghost like that, but I have convinced myself that ghosts from the Ghost Zone do not belong here and have no feelings, and therefore I help him.
"Technus," cried Danny, breaking me from my dream state, "H-how did you escape the Fenton Thermos?"
"My child, can you be any more blind?" shouted Technus, an evil ghost obsessed with technology like Tucker, but has a slightly more annoying voice, "I have escaped your cylinder contraption and I shall travel to all computer stores in the country and use their stock to take over the world!"
"Dude, you seriously need a new image."
"At least it's original!" cried Technus, faintly annoyed, "Ghost ray after ghost ray, guess that's the latest thing."
Ignoring his comment and picking up the Fenton Thermos, Danny soared toward the oblivious ghost and captured him once more. That was way too easy, I thought, It usually takes hours or days to capture Technus. I guess Danny has improved since the space station incident.
As Danny descended to the ground, he closed the lid, turned to me, and he winked.
