A/N: Set before Heroes. And yes, I am back for now. It's been a while since I wrote so I'm sorry if this is horrible. It's not beta'd and I just got back from vacation but what ever. Enjoy. XD ALSO, I am not forgetting about Hostage and SCC. I'm working on them both. Putting down the chapter layouts for them.

He's sure at one point or another, his world has shifted. He tries to tell himself that what they do is simple and right to the point but as he continues to feel her lips on his, and his touch on his skin, he can't help but believe that maybe there's more complexity than what meets the eye. Or at least that's what he tells himself as his hands run down her bare back.
Fingers trace the outlines of their history, the three of them as a whole and it's so strong that he feels the air around them closing in, trapping them in this sick cycle carousel that they play with one another. This is how it goes and sometimes his world spins so fast that he fears with one small move of his body, he'll fall from this delicate comfort zone.
They're his friends and at the same time they're his enemies. He hates how toxic their routines are, tongues tracing the scars of yesterdays and soft fingertips offering comfort in all the right places.
She tugs at his lower lip with her teeth, demanding for him to return his attention to her, nails digging deep into his flesh. He inhales quickly, her brows rise in amusement at his reaction because this is her intentions – to gather him back to her. He takes her request and presses his body to her, getting lost in her curves as he feels Danny's fingers slowly leaving his body, taking away the despair in his prints.
"Come with me." Aiden whispers into his flesh as he falls on top of her, fingers tangling into her dark hair as she presses small kisses to the curve of his neck.
Danny sits besides them, his fingers itching for the feel of their warm bodies against his as he watches with interest, tongue slipping out to lick at his lower lip in anticipation.
And this is how the cycle begins and each night it ends the same way it does the nights before and Don finds himself wondering why they all put up with it. Sure, they could probably get any person they wanted in their life but in the conclusion of their tangled webs, they feel for one another. Perhaps it's because they share an invisible thread that weaves them together in a tangled mess that neither can seem to fall out of.
Don wonders if it is possible to fall in love with two people and when he enters Aiden while Danny licks at the sweat on the back of his neck, he finds himself answering his own question. Danny and Aiden are his anchors – keeping him locked to the solid ground beneath him, unable to free and escape into the dangers that the world holds for him.
Danny shares part of his past, the dark and mysterious ways of the lies that he holds while Aiden shares part of the city with him, holding the boroughs and street smarts with her.
The three of them fit a puzzle that over time they all had managed to create, each resembling parts of the lies and truths that burden deep inside them.
This is what they do, they feel, love, share and demand for the same in return. Neither finds themselves able to live life without the others and Don wants to blame it on the fact that it's their jobs – Danny and Don still at the crime labs while Aiden hides in her own private investigations – but it's an answer he finds himself never satisfied with.
For now, all he can do is just take what he has and pray that somewhere down the road they'll understand what keeps them hungry for more.
