It was the middle of the day but Nicole Haught and Waverly Earp were lying in bed together. The sheets were noticeably mussed and an array of clothes had been thrown across the room. An Officer's hat hung from the ceiling light; how it got there Nicole had no idea. She had her arm around Waverly; they were both flushed and basking in the afterglow. Waverly noticed how Nicole's red hair caught the daylight as it streamed in from the hastily closed net curtains, it made her hair look set ablaze.
"That was...something" Waverly smiled, her entire body was still tingling in the aftermath. Nicole kissed the top of her head affectionately. She liked the feeling of Waverly's small body pressed against her.
"I don't know how that was for you but... phew!" Waverly put her arms up above her head. "That really was something". Waverly had a sudden feeling of needling uncertainty. "It was... wasn't it?"
Nicole in a state of after bliss drowsiness just nodded and grinned. It wasn't enough to convince Waverly. She sat up, "because I know you've been with people with more experience and it probably doesn't compare to that..."she trailed off, uncertain with herself.
Nicole saw the look of worry on Waverly's face; she sat up and took hold of Waverly's face with both her hands. She really wanted to get this across to her. "Waverly," she said with conviction. "I can't feel my legs, I'm about to fall asleep and its four o'clock in the afternoon, there is no comparison".
Waverly finally convinced of the truth of her words meekly smiled. Nicole laughed and Waverly couldn't help but laugh too. Waverly knew she was being silly and insecure but she couldn't help it. This was new and not in the way she had expected. Yes, Nicole was a woman but that was not the defining difference between this and everything that had come before. It was instead this feeling that she couldn't quite put her finger on. As there laughter died down, their mirth had re-sparked their cooling passion. They kissed and it was long and deep and... Nicole's drowsiness was completely forgotten.
