Summary:
The life of a shinobi was short and brutal. Most not living past the age of twenty-five. Yet here they are drinking away all their troubles with a good ol' bottle of sake.
Or the fic where Kakashi sneaks out of doing paperwork in favor of getting drunk.

The music was loud, lights were annoyingly bright and a shot of whiskey in his hand, Kakashi felt like this was going to be the most stupidest thing he's done as the newly inagurated rokudaime hokage. He was sitting at a small booth in the corner. Genma, Gai and Aoba were with him.
Asuma couldn't make it as Kurenai would have killed him if he gotten drunk. Not to mention having to take care of his daughter, Mirai, who was only one years old.
He now realized why Tsunade would always have a bottle of sake in her office and trying to sneak off of doing paperwork. He chuckled to himself when he thought about his old student, Naruto. The blonde has no idea of what he bargained for when he becomes hokage.
"You finally gotten drunk Kakashi?" A voice asked from beside him.
Looking up, he saw his old friend Genma looking at him. His cheeks were flush and the senbon which he had on his mouth was missing.
"Hmm, not yet. You know I can hold my liqour better than any of you." The silver haired hokage said before taking another shot of of his glass.
"By the way have you seen Gai anywhere?" Kakashi asked. Where was his green spandex-wearing friend anyway?
He got his answer when they heard Gai's voice over the karoake machine signing a cheesy romance song.
"And I, will always love you!" His druken voice could be heard signing horribly and off tune. Beside him Genma along with Aoba began laughing at their friends antics.
"Hahaha, Oh my god!" Aoba snorted from across his seat as Gai continiued singing off-key.

Sakura sighed to herself as she took another sip from her water. The pinkette was the only one who was drinking water as she had to make sure her dumb teammat's. She glared in annoyance at her two teammate's.
Her old ex-teamate, Sasuke, had just returned back to the village and after the tears, anger and sadness subsided they decided to celebrate. Sakura wouldn't mind as she missed the emo duckbutt and go to a nice restaurant. But no, Naruto had dragged Sai and her to the local bar shonbi frequented after a mission.
Sakura sighed and asked herself what she did in a past life to have to deal with her boys stupid antics.

'God they were all idiots'. Shizune thought as she entered the bar.
She left for only ten minutes, ten minutes, and the sixth hokage dissapears with only a desk full of paperwork left behind and a sticky note that read; gone out to drink. Now Shizune was used too tracking down Tsunade and dragging the blonde woman back to her duties as hokage so she won't have trouble tracking down Kakashi aswell. She sighs, she wished she could finally retire.
She arrives at the bar and could hear the loud music coming out of it. The place was known as a popular shinbo bar and hangout so she knows Kakashi would be there.
"Shizune?" A voice she knew asked.
Glancing to her left she saw Sakura wave at her from a few feet away. Smiling and grateful there was atleast one person responsible, she walked over to the pinkette's table.
"Hey Sakura, I'm here to drag the rokudaime back to his paperwork. You haven't seen him have you?" She asked.
Sakura had a thoughtful look on her face and was about to openher mouth when the sound of her boys laughter filled the room. Turning to them she saw Sai laughing at Naruto, who was drunkily singing a hit song at the time, while Sasuke was sobbing about not being able to restore his clan since Naruto wasn't a girl.
Shizune and Sakura stared at them for a good minute before carrying on their conversation. Picking up to where they left off, Sakura gave Shizune a small smile before pointing to a few table's away from them.
With a quick thanks, Shizune heads over to them.

She goes over to Kakashi's booth and began speaking in a stern voice. By the time she got there, Kakashi was already flushed and slurring his words while Genma and Aoba were knocked out. Gai on the other hand was singing another romance song though the lyrics were just druken slurs that were difficult to actually understand.
"Kakashi-san! Stop drinking sake and get back to the hokage tower! You have a mountain of forms and reports to sign and check."
"Eh? Shizune, what're you doing here hic it's the middle of the night. Y-you should be hic sleeping." He said, sluring his words.
Shizune sighs and rolls her eyes. She's honestly baffled that these three idiots are Konoha's elite jonin.
"Alright looks like I'll have to drag you back by force." She said before dissapearing.
A moment or so later, Gai and Shizune appear.
"My eternal rival!! hic Shizune-san here has requested me to help drag you back to your duties as hokage." The next thing that happened was Gai carrying Kakashi on his back, the silver haired man had an iron grip on his bottle of sake.
Gai began sprinting out of the bar, before Shizune could follow them she heard someone clear their throat.
She turns to face the angry bartender. "Who will pay for their drinks and damage?" He asked.
Shizune sighs before pulling out a checkbook. " Please put it on the Hokage's tab." She said before giving him the check and rushing out the door.
Shizune ran all over the village to find where the two could have gone. It wasn't until next morning did she find them. They were both passed out in the park laying on a bench.
Kakashi was alseep on said bench his hand still clutching the sake bottle and Gai knocked out cold sitting beside him on the floor. His hair was a nest and he looked horrible.
He finally awoke and sat up slowly before feeling a sharp pain in his head.
"Ow!! I think I deserve this." He said.
Shizune really wished she retired when she had the chance and have a vacation where ahe didn't have to babysit the hokage.
A/N:So um... this happened. I didn't intend this to end up being a Kakashi/Gai fic but, you can interpret it as whatever you want.This is a one-shot I created a looong time ago, I decided to spruce it up a bit and post it.
