The Legend of Rena

Rena is the next Avatar. She's only seventeen, and not even close to mastering the elements, when she finds herself on the run from the Red Lotus. The Red Lotus want the Avatar gone, and for the world to fall into chaos. Rena has to stop them, but she can't do it alone. First, she has to master the elements. SYOC OPEN!

Republic City

~ 10 Years Ago ~

"What do we do?" The young woman asked. She was dressed in dirty clothes much too big for her, and clutching the hand of her 6 year old daughter. The child had clothes that were a bit nicer.

Her husband was struggling to start the boat. It was dark out, the moon showing just enough light to see by. "We get Rena to the White Lotus Compound." He answered. "They will protect her."

The boat growled to life. The man let out a sigh of relief, and reached for his daughter. "Come on, Rena."

The little girl scurried to her father. The ground began to rumble, then opened up under the woman. She sunk to her waist before the ground closed around her.

"Noriko!" The man shouted.

"Just go, Hiro." She said. "Get our daughter out of here."

Hiro gave a stiff nod, then began taking the boat toward open water. Rena looked over her father's shoulder just in time to see her mother's figure consumed by flames.

A/N This was just a short little intro to my story about the next Avatar. In this Rena is an earthbender, who is being hunted by the Red Lotus who want to destroy the Avatar for good. The Red Lotus don't just want to destroy the Avatar though. They want all nonbenders dead, and for all order to turn into chaos. Rena has to stop them. The story will start with her at the White Lotus compound, but by the end of the first chapter she will be on the run. The form to submit a character will be on my profile.
