I'm Shiro Haka and I'm just turned sixteen. I have short fluffy, messy blonde hair, I'm about average in height, and I love to wear t-shirts and jeans. So on my sixteenth birthday I was planning on going on a pokemon adventure, but I guess plans don't always go as expected well what should I expect when I woke up in a room that I've never seen before. The bed I was on didn't have the same covers and had a different mat than I wasn't accustomed to. The room was empty with only a TV in the middle. Behind the TV on the left was the door out of the room. The room's walls were painted yellow and had no windows. The room was small and had a depressing mood to it. Looking at the room my first reaction was where the hell am I? I was in a place that I didn't know. I thought I might have been kidnaped. If so I had to make my way out of this house. They didn't lock me to the bed, but then again… I might be locked in the room. I slowly made my way to the door. Tiptoeing just in case they were on the other side listening in which was not likely, but I could never be too careful. Once I got to the door I grabbed the knob and checked if it was locked. It wasn't, great. I opened slowly and made my way through a hallway and down stairs, but as I got to the bottom of the stairs I was surprised with a
"Happy Birthday!" The voice and look of the woman was too familiar for me to forget. It was my Mother. My mind went from kidnaping to surprise moving to a different city. I grabbed her by the shoulders with my hands and asked
"Mother… where are we?" Once I had said this she started to look concerned. She put her hand on my head in a way to check temperature
"We're home in Mishiro Town… the place we've lived in since you were little. Are you feeling ok?" she took her hand off my head and started to tug me upstairs
"Perhaps you shouldn't begin your touhoumon journey yet? You should rest." touhoumon? What was that? I was supposed to begin a pokemon adventure. I tugged away from my mother and ran through the big room that was suppose the be the "living room" with its furniture and general area's to relax and have a conversation and made my way quickly outside to be greeted by a town that wasn't really mine.
"Mishiro Town…" you're not my home… I started running away from town. I was making my way to the forest near the town, but this girl stopped me. She had long Black flowing hair with red highlights at the tips of her hair
"Sorry I can't let you pass." She blocked my way I would try to pass her by going around her, but she kept getting in my way not letting me through.
"Let me pass!" I yelled at her in panic. I just wanted to get far away from this place and find my real home.
She stood there silent as she held up a orb that looked similar to a pokeball, but was different because it had a red and white ying and yang style look to it. She called out this what looked like little girl. Was this what my fake mother was talking about? A touhoumon?
"Hypnosis…" she whispered in pity as the touhoumon's eyes went red lulling me. Making my eyes droop and lazy. I tried to keep consciousness, but as the hypnosis went longer the harder it was to stay conscious. I fell to my knees trying to resist, but I knew in the end I wouldn't be able to stay conscious. I didn't even know why I was resisting anymore. I was panicking and resisting because I was scared of the unknown. I didn't know what they were going to do to me. These fake people. The girl came up to me and kneeled
"Shiro… it's ok, please" and then it went dark.
In my dream I was in a dark place, in fact, it was pitch black. I could move freely, but get nowhere. I kept walking and walking until I got tired. I was nowhere, walking to get nowhere. Or at least that is what I thought. A spotlight flashed revealing a man with short brown hair that connected to a eared that was fully grown and groomed. I knew this man as the professor of my town, Professor Birch. Birch stood there in the spotlight with the same orb in his hand as the girl.
"Hello young one." He greeted me "I am one of the many touhoumon professors" he put out his hand for a shake "I'm professor Birch" I was right it was my professor… or at least a fake version of him. No one I really know would have one of those orbs. He laughed as he noticed my glare at the orb in his hand
"It's ok." he tried to say to calm me. "Here" he threw the orb and the orb opened as a light came out a brought forth a touhoumon. The touhoumon was small and had blonde hair that went to the bottom of her ears. She wore a dress and had wings like a bug would have which wasn't disgusting, but cute. The wings kind of fit her.
"This is a touhoumon. One of many, we call them touhou for short." He looked at me and realized I still had some tension towards the touhou. "This is Lunachild chibi" he told me what type of touhou it was. The touhou started walking to me slowly and stopped right in front of me. I don't know what came over me, but I put out my hand and I pet her on her head. Her hair felt smooth and it made me less panicked. It calmed me down a bit. Lunachild Chibi smiled and let out a small giggle. I looked up at the fake birch
"Shiro, I know it's going to take some time, but you're going to have to get use to this world." What the hell? He knows what I'm going through?
"H~" I was going to say something, but Birch interrupted me
"Yes I know that you've come from the world of pokemon. This was done once you had saw the pokemon Ho-oh who grants happiness
"Do I look happy!?" I said stressed.
"No you don't, but sadly there is no way for you to go back because there is no Ho-oh in the touhou world." This was just great. Not only was I not in a place I could really call home, but here is no way to get home. How does birch even know that I come from a different world anyways?
"How do you know where I come from?" I asked a bit coldly. This made the Lunachild Chibi a bit scared because of how my mood changed
Birch laughed "I'll tell you in the future, but for right now." He paused and walked up to me. He leaned on me and put his mouth next to my ear.
"Wake up" he whispered. Everything went black… so… it was a dream… I said as he came back into consciousness back in my bed in Mishiro Town. There was a group of people around me. Four to be exact, but two of them I already recognized. One was my fake mother, and the other was the girl that knocked me out. My fake mother had tears in her eyes. I didn't care as much, but I did still care. She had my mother's face, so there is no way that I could completely ignore it.
"Shiro!" the girl yelled at me "What the heck man!? You need to listen to me! You aren't supposed to leave today until you get your touhou!" The girl yelled at me. I was a bit confused. Did I know her?
"Shiro? What's with that blank expression?" her tone calmed down a bit, but something was still bothering me
"Do I know you?" I honestly didn't know this girl. If I knew her wouldn't I have a version of her in my world? But there was no version of her in my world.
She gasped. "Shiro it's me Serenity!" her voice full of worry as she grabbed my shoulders "Your childhood best friend?" as she went on and on about our supposed childhood she noticed that none of it was getting through to me. Tears started welling up in her eyes as she quickly ran out of the room.
"Serenity!" my mother started to chase after her, but was quickly stopped by a guy in a lab coat
"It's ok. Right now we have to deal with Shiro." The guy turned to me and sat down at the side of my bed.
"Hello my name is Professor Mike. I'm Serenity's father." The guy said revealing that he was the professor of this town and the girl who ran off's father. "Here I would like to give you a selection of touhou that you can start of your journey with."
"Professor!?" my fake mother gasped in a worried like horror.
"It's ok… the boy has a sort of amnesia, but I still promised him that today I would give him a touhou. He doesn't have to leave for his journey until he gets better, but I still promised him that I would give him a touhou on his sixteenth birthday. He set three orbs on my bed
"These… are called Miko Orbs. They are the ways trainers can hold their touhou. "he called out each touhou. On my birthday I always imagined that I would be selecting a pokemon, but here I am selection a touhou. They all were in a line side by side. I looked at the first one and the professor explained to me what she was
"This is Riemu Chibi" the touhou had dark grayish black hair that went down to the top of her neck. She had a red head dress and wore a red shrine maiden's outfit. She yawned and smirked a bit. After I examined Riemu Chibi I looked to the one in the middle
"This is Marisa Chibi." Marisa had blond hair that I didn't know how long it was because she loosely wore a hat that a witch would wear. Her outfit was a black dress with an apron about it. She had a determined look on her face, but this was complemented by a smile. After Marisa Chibi I looked at the last one
"This is Kogasa Chibi" Kogasa was a girl in a blue dress. Her eyes were her most distinguishing part. One eye was blue and one eye was red. She held and umbrella that had an eye and a tong. Kogasa was hiding behind her umbrella and hid her face. When I scooted closer to her. She popped out from under her umbrella with a her tong sticking making a mmmmnnn sound. It surprised me and I jumped. Kogasa immediately started giggling. I started giggling afterwards. I liked Kogasa. That was the one I wanted.
"I want Kogasa Chibi" I said the professor. He smiled
"Ok" he called back the other two and gave Kogasa's Miko Orb to me. Still giggling she floated up to me and sat herself down on my lap.
"Kogasa is a ghost type. Please take good care of her." Saying this he gave me a device explaining that it was basically this world's version of the pokedex. The Notebook. After he gave me the device he left the room to tend to his daughter.
Kogasa looked peaceful in my lap, I couldn't resist I had to pet her. I rubbed my hand through her hair and she seemed to enjoy it as she yawned and took a spot on my chest as I lay down.
My mother saw me and realized how peaceful I was. She left me in the room to rest hoping that I would get better soon, but this wasn't amnesia. I was not the person they knew anymore.
I rested up, but I made sure not to fall asleep. I pet my little chibi Kogasa to help me stay awake. She was asleep though. I was getting accustomed to the touhou. They were a trainer's partners and friends just like pokemon and because of that I couldn't dislike them. Especially Kogasa I couldn't hate her. Once it was night and everyone was guaranteed to be asleep. I called Kogasa to her Miko Orb. Once she was in I left my room and snuck throughout the house. First I found a backpack and then I went into the kitchen which was accessed through the living room. I grabbed a week's worth of food and left the house. Once I was out of the house I left the town into the forest.
I couldn't stay in that house. Even though I have a fake mother that does genuinely care about me, I needed to see if I could find a way back to my world and it wouldn't hurt to beat the touhou league either.
