Zuko smiled, waking with the rising sun as it filled him with its power, an eternal ritual that every firebender in the nation was bound. Long ago, he like his brethren would greet the sun in morning mediation as an old friend before setting about the day, but those had days had long since passed for him as he now had a new force that held him captive. He shifted moving his weight off the soft figure that was still sleeping below him. The sun of course beckoned him to leave his bed but the sight below him held him in place like no other force in the world could. An enchantingly beautiful creƤture, she held him captive like this every morning, and he was helpless against her perfectly innocent wiles, helpless to get away until she woke enough to set him free. If only she had any idea what she did to him every day upon his waking. He could not help but be entranced by the dark wavy curls that flowed down her back and the bronzed skin that glowed in the morning sun. Trapped he stared at her peaceful face that was snuggled into the pillow entangled in her arms, while he listened to the shallow rhythmic breaths that escaped from her parted lips. Moving once more, he leaned a little closer to the woman, placing a warm kiss on her bare shoulder unable to help his self from showing his affection for her. This finally caused the brunette to stir and snuggle deeper into her pillow before she turns sleepy blue eyes toward the firebender. "Zuko." Katara grumbles from half-sleep. "Go away; it's too hot to cuddle. But first I want a proper kiss." "As you wish, my lady." Zuko chuckles leaning in to place a loving kiss upon her lips before exiting the bed finally set free by the captivating figure that now always occupied his bed and refused to let him answer the sun's beckoning call.
Katara smiled, catching glimpse of the tall languid figure that occupied her bed. The moon had called to her for the better part of the day and until this point, she had planned to go practice in the garden before going to bed, now with a sigh she made her way to her husband. Yue would understand after all, she just wondered if the man had any clue what he did to her, and it was so unfair that he could trap her so easily and that she was so helpless to do anything about it. Like a moth drawn to a flame, she makes her way toward the dozing figure laughing slightly when she hears to faint snores issuing from his lips. Carefully she crawls up the figure, lying down beside him so she can take in the sight of him. Pale skin glows in the moon light making his chiseled features standout in contrast to the dark red silk of his shirt. Silently she hated him for being so perfect, well almost, she thought catching glance of the darkened, pebbled flesh that surrounded his left eye. Her heart ached at the suffering this man had suffered and again vowed that for as long as she was bound to him she would do everything in her power not to see him suffer again. Slowly she shifted, moving her head so she could see another scar that had haunted her for a long time, the one located over his heart. Carefully, she traced the outline of it reliving the memory of the day he had received the scar before sighing as she heard his familiar words. "You worry too much on this. It is an honor for me to carry to the mark of my love for you upon my chest." "Oh, Zuko." She whispers as he sits up and takes her into his arm, intent written on his face. "By this mark we are eternally bound."
