It was cold... so cold... it was all he could feel, all that there was, all that there ever was. A lone body, distinctly male, so still you'd think him dead, in the middle of a cornfield, cold to the touch, ... Bitch You Thought. He jerked awake with a start, with a gasp he frantically clutched at his chest almost like he was searching for something, searching for what?!. Not even he knew. Phantom pains shot through his body, a cold dark ache settled heavily in his heart.

"What the hell was that, ... wait, where am I?", he desperately looked around, whipping his head from side to side. Sun-bleached hair hung in his eyes. Paying it no mind he swiped it to the side and stood up. What the hell!, I gotta find out where I am. He started off with a light jog, after a few minutes he reassessed his surroundings, "Still corn" he started running, "STILL corn", he started sprinting, "STILL CORN" WHAT THE F##K! where the hell am I?.

He sunk to the ground, for the moment defeated. What am I gonna do?. He didn't know why he was so antsy, why he was in such a hurry. All he had was a feeling, a feeling of urgency like he had to stop something but he didn't know what. He raked his brain for answers, till he stopped with a jerk.

Wait, who am I?. He was cold again, floating in an expanse of darkness, he dumbly stared out into the abyss, waiting, watching, wondering.

A feeling of numbness spread throughout his body. No memories, no attachments, no responsibilities, it was ... liberating. All the concepts of a basic human being, rules, laws, morality, it baffled him. It was like a weight had been lifted off his brain, off of his very soul. He felt ... free.

Weightless, like a feather. His eyes felt heavy, he was tempted to just drift, to just let the darkness consume him. But something wasn't right.

There was something … wrong. "What is this, where is this, am I" … an uncertain pause permeated the silence of his mind. "Dead"?. "No, no I can't be, this isn't what death is supposed to be like, but, what is death supposed to be like"?.

He couldn't remember. For the life of him, he could not remember.

And that thought alone rocked him to his very core. He was still again.

He couldn't tell why but, he felt like he had lost something, something precious. It felt like a piece of him was missing, something that made him … him. He sat there for a while, quiet, a single sob racked his entire body. A feeling of loss was all he could feel. He was alone.

Unknown to him, a figure shrouded in darkness was observing him.

"Hmm, not much, but then again what mortal has ever impressed me as much as this one, but alas, without his memories he is broken, I should just kill him and get this over with already". As the figure contemplated the boy's demise, something happened, something, unexpected.

Authors Note: Dun Dun Dun, who is this creepy weirdo watching the vulnerable teenage boy … I'm not a pedophile I swear. Anyway thank you to my two reviewers who really helped me out, I hope that this version is better and easier to read.

I do plan on making my chapters a lot longer, It's just that I'm still working out all the kinks of, Ya know, what writing/document platform is best for this stuff. Anyway Bye!

Ps: Constructive Criticism is always welcome.
