"February 16th... February 16th... February 16th...", mumbled Cloud.
"Cloud, what are you grumbling about?", asked Aeris.
"Oh, nothing...", replied Cloud.
"Don't give me that! You've been sitting there mumbling for the past three hours!", she smiled. "Now, what's up?"
"Oh Aeris! I'm so excited! You do know what date it is, don't you?!"
"Uh, it's February 2nd. Why is that so important?", she thought.
"Well, in two weeks 'Final Fantasy IX' is in the shops!", Cloud yelled in excitement.
"Cool!", giggled Aeris. "Um, what's 'Final Fantasy IX'?"
"WHAT?! Where the hell have you been for the last 10 years?! 'Final Fantasy' is one of the biggest and best selling video game series ever! They're RPG's made by a company called 'SqaureSoft' and they totally kick ass!"
"Hmmm, they sound... interesting.", Aeris coughed.
"Interesting?! Interesting?! Interesting is *not* the word! Oh, I'm really looking forward to this next one! I mean, the past few have been great, but this is probably gonna be the best one yet!"
"So they're always good?", Aeris wondered.
"Yep! Personally I thought the eighth one was a bit of a disappointment compared to the seventh one, but hey, it wasn't all that bad!"
"Well I'm glad you're so happy.", smirked Aeris.
Cloud was jiggling back and fourth like a maniac. He'd been looking forward to this game for months now, and pretty soon, he'd be able to buy it. He sat on his chair, staring at the clock.
"C'mon! Tick faster!", he whailed.
"Cloud, y'know two weeks isn't that long.", said Aeris.
"It feels like forever. Damn man, I guess I could play 'Final Fantasy VIII' or something to pass the time..."
Just then, Tifa walked in.
"Hi guys! Barrett, Cid, Yuffie and I are gonna grab a pizza. Either of you wanna come?"
"Can't talk... waiting...", mumbled Cloud, who was still rocking back and fourth in his chair.
"Sure, I'll come.", Aeris said, putting her knitting down and getting off her chair. "Y'know Cloud, if you keep busy then the time might not go so slow."
"Suggestion noted.", he gurgled.
"Well, let's go!", laughed Tifa.
The two girls made their way outside. Suddenly, a section of the floor collapsed and Aeris fell through it, plunging to the depths of her basement underneath the house.
"Oh my God! They killed Aeris!", screamed Tifa.
"February 16th... February 16th... February 16th...", mumbled Cloud.
