Heh…This is a weird piece…Like it, review. Don't like it, don't review. And if you flame me, I'll just laugh. In fact, I dare you to flame me!

Little Chat

PLUNK
PLUNK
PLUNK

The blue-haired boy sighed, staring at the ripples his pebbles had caused in the still lake.

If I look hard enough, I can see her face in the water…

"Hey, man."

The young man whirled around to be confronted by…his best friend. He greeted the red head with a noncommittal "Hey."

"What's up?"

"Nothing much."

"Don't give me that. You're thinking of her, aren't you?"

"How'd you guess?"

"What else could make you so depressed?"

"Not much. And nothing here in the real world is on that list."

"Except her."

"Yeah."

The red head walked over to his friend and sat down next to him on the pier.

"Want to talk about it?"

"Why should I? She's in love with Blond-boy."

"How do you know that?"

"I have eyes, you know."

"So? I've talked to them about it. They both claimed they were just friends."

"Uh-huh."

"Hey, it had the ring of truth."

"Suuuure it did."

The red head looked at his friend for a moment. Although he knew his friend was given to periodic bouts of depression, this was a bit extreme.

"Listen up, man. Tell her. You have nothing to lose, and maybe something to gain."

"Hmmm…Didn't you use to have a crush on her?"

"I got a good thing going with Miyako now. And I never liked pink all that much, ya know?"

"You and Miyako?"

"Yep. Nothing all that serious, ya know. Just friends. Anyway, talk to her. How do you know unless you observe for yourself?"

"I'll…have to think about it. Thanks, Daisuke. See ya later."

"Yeah, see ya, Ken. Good luck with Hikari."
