Astoria Greengrass-Malfoy's 26th Birthday: December 10, 2008
- 8:00 I'm still in bed. Draco gives me a good-bye kiss as he leaves for work and whispers in my ear as I'm still half asleep, "Happy birthday, darling - I'll try to come home early tonight. And I'll bring home a lovely cake for you." I fall back asleep with a smile and dream about licking French vanilla cake frosting off of Draco's nude body and then blowing out my birthday candles . . . you can probably guess where those candles were strategically placed.
- 10:00 The house elf draws my bubble bath and brings me brunch, which I eat in the bath: strawberries, toast, butter, jam, and champagne.
- 11:00 Pedicure, manicure, and massage on the terrace while I watch the albino peacocks frolicking with little Scorpius and the nanny in the first winter snowfall. I field a barrage of owls bearing gifts from family and friends wishing me birthday pleasantries. Mum sent a new designer frock, Daphne gave me scented potion which she claims will drive Draco mad with lust (as if we need help with that), Dad sent a book (borrrrring), Narcissa and Lucius sent flowers (thank Merlin they're on holiday and away from the manor), and dear Pansy sent death threats (again).
- 12:00 Still on the terrace. Scorpius is down for his 2 hour nap in the nursery. Draco sends me an owl saying, "I'm coming home for lunch."
- 12:05-12:55 Draco banishes the servants from the dining room and has me for lunch on the dining room table. OMFG, if that's what he does for lunch, what will dinner be like?
- 13:00 I need another bath after lunch.
- 13:30 Draco goes back to work. Shopping for shoes in London with Daphne and Mum. Draco sends me an owl saying, "I'm coming home for tea." I craft an excuse to not invite my sister and mother back for tea.
- 15:05-15:25 Back at the manor, Draco has me for tea on the chaise lounge in the drawing room.
- 15:30 Draco goes back to work. I realize I haven't really eaten today (well, food at least). I summon the house elf and order a platter of sushi (because I like it raw) and a bottle of saki.
- 18:00 Draco comes home from work. We have my birthday cake and I let Scorpius blow out the candles (though he spits all over the cake – my silly little darling). I get dressed for dinner while Draco and Scorpius play in the nursery with his set of Death Eater action figures. I read him a storybook about the Dark Lord. Then it is time for mummy and daddy to go out for mummy's special day.
- 19:00 Dinner in Paris at a restaurant overlooking the Seine with the lights of the city sparkling on the river. This isn't a muggle establishment. Draco orders for me and my heart melts as he drawls in perfect French. I'm having grilled grindylow in a unicorn blood reduction sauce. Draco orders hippogryph steak medallions, rare. Both are paired nicely with a glass of Felix Felicis. As we have after-dinner cordials, he leans over, places a hand on my thigh under the table, and whispers seductively in my ear, "I can't wait to get you home and give you your birthday present."
- 21:00 Back at the manor. We're hardly through the door when we start pawing at each other. We can't apparate to the bed room fast enough. He gives me my present: a diamond necklace – at the center is the Star of India, a 563 carat star sapphire originally owned by J.P. Morgan (a rich American muggle). "A star for my perfect star," he says as he places the massive jewel around my neck. I'm flattered, but I must admit, having Draco Malfoy as my life-partner is a gift more precious than any gem. You can guess what we had for desert . . . .
