Two weeks have gone by. Two weeks since the position of the Inquisitor was opened. Two weeks since Kieran and Diego have gone missing. Two weeks since Emma broke the Mortal Sword. Two weeks since Annabel had fled the council in pain. Two weeks since Zara was exposed for the liar that she is. Most importantly two weeks since the Blackthorn's world was destroyed, yet again. Emma was going to make sure that Zara was going to pay for the death of Livvy. If it weren't for the lies that Zara had told then Annabel would have never had to that godforsaken sword. Who would have thought that a sword from an angel could cause such heartbreak?

Kit was in pure shock, but his feelings had to take a backseat. All he could think about was Ty. Ty had been in a resting state ever since the events had happened. Magnus had given him a potion that would put him to sleep. Magnus had described it to Julian as a potion similar to one that an odd friend of Magnus's had once taken, but this potion however was different. The one that his friend took required another one to wake her, but this one just required acceptance. Kit heard Magnus say that Ty would be in a dream state until he can come to turns with the murder of his twin sister. Kit wandered why that the other Blackthorns, Emma, and Diana were not given it, but Kit thought it best not to ask. He just decided to stay by Ty's side. He whispered in the other boy's sleeping ear every day. The two would hold complete one sided conversations. Still Kit was fooling himself. He constantly wanted Ty to know that he was there for Ty, but he knew that Ty could not hear him.

Kit would do this every time the other Blackthorns were not around of course. Every time that Helen, Julian, Dru, or Tavvy would want to see Ty, Kit would hide in the back of the room. He would stay in plain sight when Mark would enter, only because Mark himself was so weird so his judgements meant nothing to Kit. He was confused as to why Mark was not helping Cristina look for Kieran. Those three had the weirdest love triangle that Kit had ever seen.

While Aline and Emma were pleading to the council that they should be able to "speak" to Zara, Diana would be the only there with whom Kit could converse. Cristina would often call, but only to inform Mark that Kieran was still missing.

Diana had knocked on Kit's door in the London Institute to let Kit know that Ty's room was clear. For reasons still unclear to Kit they were in London, but he dare not complain. Every time that he was not sitting next to Ty's bed he was trying to contact Jessamine. He was sure she could help him. Unfortunately for Kit every time that he called her name there was no answer. Diana often gave him a look of curiosity. She knew exactly what he was doing and even alluded it the first time he tried. She told him, "Kit, I too hope that Livvy is okay. The legend of the bell tower gives us peace of mind. It lets us know that she is okay." When Kit first met Jessamine she let him know that even though she was a ghost she had no idea what happened on the other side. Deep down inside Kit knew that Jessamine would be no help. He thought to himself that maybe he just wanted the dead there to help him out.

Little did Kit know that every time he called for Jessamine she was there. She just did not want to show herself to him. She saw the emptiness inside of him. She did not want to give him false hope. As Kit exited the room heading to Ty's side, she heard that familiar voice. A voice that she had not heard in over 100 years. She turned around and the first thing that she did was smile.

There in the corner of Kit's room sat Sophie. These two spirits ran to greet each other with a hug. Funny how in life these two were anything but cordial let alone friends. But for some reason death had a way of bringing people together.

"Jessamine, my old friend. You know why the young lad really wishes to see you. I fail to understand why you do not just show yourself."

"Sophie, he has yet to come to terms with the death of his own father. Him hearing me say that I do not know where the dead girl is will do him no good. Even though that he already knows that."

"Although you are right you must know that he needs the comfort. That is why you still have yet to leave. You wish to do nothing but comfort people that need your help."

"Speaking of comfort, why in all of the years that he have been dead are you just deciding to visit me?"

Sophie gave Jessamine a hug and said, "I am sorry for that," then Sophie disappeared. Then a man appeared. One that Jessamine never met before, but she knew who he was.

Kit sat at Ty's bed, just watching the other boy sleep was beginning to be too much for Kit. Still he dare not be selfish. He wanted to make sure that the first face that Ty would see was his. Deep down Kit wandered if wanting that was selfish. Then a hand fell on his shoulder.

Usually something like that would make Kit jump ready to fight, but something about the hand felt so familiar and loving that he dare not think it. Kit turned around then the tears fell like a waterfall. He saw his father standing right there with Jessamine to his left. "How is this possible," Kit thought then remembering that he could see ghost. Still his father was standing there right in front of him.

"So, Kit, seems like you have finally come to terms with it. I was wondering when you would accept it," Johnny Rook said as Jessamine giggled. He winked at Jessamine, "I guess I still have that effect on the ladies. It must be a Herondale thing. About that too, I am sorry for not telling you."

Kit did nothing more than stare at his deceased father. The man that was murdered in his own house was standing there in front of his son apologizing for keeping secrets. Kit then wondered what his father meant by coming to terms with 'it'. What was its antecedent? Kit had no idea.

"I-I kn-know that you were just, you just, you," trying to speak to his father and cry at the same time just was not working out for Kit. So Jessamine laid a hand on his head and sat next to him. Kit sat there for a few moments trying to get the tears from his face, and he wanted to stop the wheezing. He finally got somewhat of a composure then asked his father, "Come to terms with what?"

Johnny just smiled, and said, "I guess not yet."

"Dad, where is Livvy and why isn't she here? Dad,"

"Kit, she is fine. She is still coming to terms with dying, but she is fine. Trust me it takes some time getting used to being dead. I am sure Jessamine will not mind telling you that." Johnny turned to Jessamine with that last line and saw her smirk once again. "Remember that guy you were mad at for writing in the books? Well he helped him get here, and he wants you to give this letter to Tessa and Jem next time you see them." Johnny handed a piece of paper to Kit then he and Jessamine were gone.

Kit wanted to open the letter, but he decided to let privacy be. He then turned to look at a sleeping Ty, this time Kit wore a smile. He still was wondering what was going down in Ty's dreams.

It was late at night in the streets of London and Ty and Kit were. This team of detectives were looking for a missing person. A young brown haired female same age as Ty. Ty took out his magnifying glass looking for clues as to where she could be. His trusted sidekick was right behind him. The two were going to find this girl if it was the last thing that they would do.

"You know, Watson, this girl has a loving family. Her mother, Eleanor, is extremely worried about her. Not to mention her brother Julian. She has six siblings altogether. Her uncle Arthur reached out to us."

"Sherlock, I do wish to find this girl, but what if it is too late? The family reported her missing two weeks ago, but the cops have yet to find anything. You were her uncle's last resort, and maybe being that means that she is already gone."

"No! Watson, I refuse to believe that she is gone. You cannot think like that. We have to find-"

"Kit."

"What?"

"My name is Kit."

"No. Your name is Watson. I know your name we have been partners for…for."

"How long? How long have we been partners? Ty, you know what is happening"

He just stared at his sidekick, and shook his head.

"Ty, think about it. We do not belong here in London. We don't even have London accents. I have sat by your bed for two weeks. I have whispered things in your ears. Have you heard any of them?"

"Yes."

"What have you heard? What did I tell you?"

"You said that you forgave me for holding a knife to your neck. And… and you told me that you need me more than I need you. But that is a lie. I need you more than anything. "I-I-I need Livvy!"

Eleanor approached her son and said, "Ty, she is okay. She is with us now. She misses all of you dearly, and so do we."

"Ty, you have come to terms with it. Ty, wake up. Let us be there for each other."

Ty opened his eyes to see Kit with his head down sobbing. Ty patted Kit on the head, and Kit looked up. Kit grabbed Ty and embraced him with a hug. Ty put his arms around Kit tight. Then the two parted from the hug and looked at each other. They stared at one another intensely. Their faces began to get closer and closer. There was practically no space left between them. Ty closed his eyes. Then Kit closed his too. Both boys then parted their lips getting even closer. Then the door swung open and knocked them out of their moment. In walked in Magnus, Tessa, and Jem. The three looked at the two obviously aware that they ruined something.

"I am so sick and tired of walking in on you Herondales," Magnus stated directing his statement to Kit.

"We should go," Tessa blushed.

"Wait, Tessa, stop," Kit yelled as he pulled out a later and directed her to come get it, instead of him getting up!

"Kit, why do you not just come and give it to me?"

"Ummm… no reason, just come take it."

"Who gave this to you?" Tessa looked at the letter.

"My father told me that someone wanted me to give this to you and Jem."

Magnus looked perplex. Kit's father was dead. When did he give a letter?

Ty too was confused, "Your father?"

"I saw him with Jessamine."

Tessa was obviously shocked and teared up a little. The three of them knew who sent the letter.

Epilogue

My Dearest Jem and Tessa,

I was there at your wedding. Jessie was my date. It gave me joy to see you two happy again. I have watched the two of you alone for so long. We are all happy for you. Charlotte and Henry are upset that they could not give you guys a wedding gift. It has taken James some time to accept his uncle Jem as his stepfather. How I wish our children got the immortality as well. Then you would not have to be alone. Gideon wishes the best for you too. He has become quite the talker. I know it is so weird. Gabriel is still a little brat, but I can live with it now. Well not live with it, since I am dead. But at least I did not die of demon pox. I have realised however the ducks killed me. Sorry, terrible joke. I know one day the three of us will be together again, but like I said on that bridge I can wait. Please Tessa find a cure to whatever that illness is that you and Magnus have. I want to see you again, but no time too soon.

Lovingly,

Will
