CHAPTER 1
"I wonder when we will get to HighStones." Shinefeather sighed. The eight cats had been travelling for two days and they had barely gotten to HighStones.
"Let's rest for a while then. Songbird and I will go get some fresh-kill." Pinewhisker suggested. Songbird nodded and the two StreamClan warriors padded away.
"Moonheart and I will explore the territory." Dawnrose mewed. Shinefeather, Jaywing, Breakingwind and Fireblaze were left in the small makeshift camp.
"I think we're beside a kittypet place." Moonheart observed, spying a brown tom kittypet stretching lazily on a fence.
"Come on, let's go look here." Dawnrose nodded to the right. Moonheart nodded and padded after his mate as they explored the place.
After a few more minutes of exploring, the two MistClan cats returned. They had caught a mouse each along with a squirrel. Pinewhisker and Songbird had brought many fish along with a small thrush. The four other Clan cats also pitched in to hunt. Soon, there was a huge growing pile of delicious fresh-kill.
"Let's eat!" Fireblaze mewed after all the cats had put at least two pieces of fresh kill on the pile. All the cats ate happily, having a full belly for the first time in a few weeks.
After the meal, all the cats went to a peaceful sleep.
The next day, Dawnrose was woken by an unfamiliar nose prodding at her side. Dawnrose's eyes snapped open, looking straight at a sandy yellow kittypet!
Dawnrose snarled and leapt up, claws unsheathed. "Who are you?"
"Hey, now, pretty cat. No need to get snappy." The tom cautioned. "I'm Billy." He seemed really cheerful, despite Dawnrose's venomous look.
"Why are you here? And my name is not pretty cat, it's Dawnrose," Dawnrose growled, baring her teeth threateningly.
"I was wondering why you and all the other cats were here." Billy mewed, grooming his paws.
"We have a prophecy to fulfill. You are in our way." Dawnrose's growls had woken Moonheart.
"Who are you and what do you want with my mate?" Moonheart snarled challengingly.
"I'm Billy, who are you?" Billy answered.
"Who I am is none of your business." Moonheart growled, turning around and using his tail to beckon Dawnrose to him and the other waking cats.
"Come on, we need to go." Moonheart mewed to the cats. They nodded and the eight cats hurried off, leaving Billy alone.
