How to survive middle school
Middle school is a scary place full of tons of new students. I f you're like me then you have all the nearby elementary schools send their kids to middle school next so most kids you've never seen before.
The first thing you want to be thinking about is making new friends. Without friends your time will suck. On the first day try to mark out who is in most of your classes. Then over the next few days try and figure out what categories they fall under. Here are some of them: jocks, nerds, underprivileged only children who don't do very mature things (UOCWDDVMT), dumb kids, super nerds, averages, and a few others
The friends you should want to have are probably the averages and nerds. Whenever you are friends with and average there will always be something you're better at and something they're better at. This way you will always have each others backs yet you'll still share interests. Nerds are good because they will make you smarter and others will gain higher opinions of you. The UOCWDDVMTs are good to.
Friends will help you along but teachers decide your success. Some teachers may be biased and when you come across one you need to know their own opinions. Biased teachers may not give you as high of grade because you disagree on certain matters so you need to pretend that they are correct and you agree.
School is designed so that if you do perfectly it will affect you in the best way possible, so all you have to do is be as close to perfect as possible. Not getting in trouble is hard but it is much easier than everyone thinks. When an adult says to be quiet shut up.
Switching classes can be hard. Here are a few tips on what to do to make it easier.
When you first get to school and after lunch bring everything with you so you won't have to go to your locker as much.
If you have a built in lock, in the beginning of the year, pull the handle up and out then hit the locker. Don't make unnecessary noise but don't hit it too hard either. Eventually your lock will break on the inside and you won't need to enter it.
Ask your teacher if you can leave class a minute or two early so you can have more time.
Homework is very important. If you don't do it you'll not only suffer the consequences of teachers and rules but also your test grades. Not doing homework can majorly decrease your grades. Here are more tips.
USE ADVISORY. Advisory is so important to you. In the early year of middle school you can get most, if not all, of your HW done in advisory and about half of it done in later years.
When you can, pick a class that allows you to focus on doing homework. This way you can maximize the amount of time you spend on homework while not at home.
DO NOT PROCRASTINATE. It may seem like a good idea at the time but it's not.
The hardest thing about school though are bullies. Bullies will most likely be jocks but not always. There are many ways to deal with bullies.
Tell an adult. Cliche. It really does work though. Older siblings also help.
While the bully is naming negative things about you think of the positives so you stay in balance.
Tell your friends. The bully will most likely have a posse but if you have your friends the bully will be scared because unlike the posse, your friends do actually like you.
