She was ready for this, she was. Mentally she recited her checklist, the four things needed to bring good luck to her marriage. Bay had never really been superstitious. But her mothers both agreed that she should do this for tradition, if nothing else. Something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue.

Simple enough, she thought.

Something old, something that held history. Dark eyes glanced through the full-length mirror at the tiara glittering against her raven hair. Never in a million years did anyone think Bay Kennish would be caught in anything related to princesses. But the moment Regina's mother placed it in her hands she knew nothing else would have fit better. The small crown's history built with each generation. The stories her grandmother described to her had moved her to tears. Today she couldn't be more proud to continue the tradition.

Something new, a fresh beginning. Her fingers grazed over the silver bracelet she'd received as a gift just this morning. Daphne was oddly quiet when she'd handed the box to Bay. Her smile was bright even though her eyes were watery. Examining the jewelry closer, she could make out an inscription on the inside. Sisters it read, and it was true. They were connected by something just as strong as blood. Fate had caused their paths to be permanently tied and Bay was grateful for that.

Something borrowed, where her time with it was limited. Walking over to the window, Bay held back the blinds to look out over the gallery entrance. Just outside the doors sat a tired looking convertible, on loan from her father. Empty paint cans and film canisters had been attached with ribbon and a sign reading JUST MARRIED.

Something blue, like his eyes. Melody had thought of this one, perhaps as a joke, but it met the requirement none the less. Only a few days earlier, her future mother-in-law had taken her on a surprise shopping trip. They hit a few other stores before reaching Melody's main goal, the Victoria's Secret. After much convincing, Bay finally decided on a simple pair of light blue lingerie.

[No one will see it for the ceremony,] Melody rationed, [but it'll get used during the consummation, so it still counts.]

[Consummation?] Bay questioned.

A wicked grin and eyebrow wiggle was her only explanation.

She was ready for this. Her tokens would bring her luck. Even if they didn't, it just felt right to have them with her. A knock comes from the other side of the door.

"Bay, sweetie," called her mother, "everyone's ready."

Good, she thought, so am I.
