Okay so first things first yesterday was valentine's day. You must have gotten wicked drunk because your head also feels ready to explode if you do more than open your eyes.
Well baby steps then. Do what you can. You hesitantly open your eyes and are pleased to know that the room you are in is still dark. No light, natural or otherwise shines. But then again you can't tell where the flip you are. You squeeze your eyes shut again and blink a few times to fully wake up. You try and rub your eyes with one of your hands but something gets in the way. Oh lord how had you not noticed that. There was a body next to you but right now all you could do was freak out because also on your other hand shined a ring. One that you didn't recognize on a finger that has some implications. Red ones.
You carefully remove your hand out from under whoever it is and try to sit up. This works for a second until your head explodes with new pain, sharp like knives accompanying the dull ache.
Maybe if you just laid down for a bit more...
Right now you don't even want to think about or know who is next to you, you just need a little... Sleep. That's all. Slee-
You fall back asleep almost instantly.
When you wake up again the sun is shining through a window decorated with gray curtains. That makes you never want to get up but you are kind of forced to when you realize that the person who was sleeping with you- whoever they were- was waking up too. Despite the still serious headache, and the fact that you are not woken up at all, your cat reflexes and instinct take over. In seconds you are over the figure, but your eyes are still kinda blurry and doing that sent a whole new wave of pain across your head.
"Who the flip... Ow ow oh shit that hurts." Your voice is small and not like you much at all.
You see through the fuzz long enough to recognize someone. He is clearly shocked about the sick move you had just pulled on him, but it was undeniable who it was. Short blackish brown hair, naturally furrowed eyebrows, a face you had dreamed of for so many sweeps. But that was before the game... Before you got stuck here as humans on this planet, a consolation prize for not actually winning. Before you had to worry about surviving this culture, back when you had trouble dealing with your own. Clearly. You had died. But he hadn't. And when you had died you focused on other things, friends you could see and still had. But he was always there in the back of your mind, a thing you could never have. A person you could never hold. But he was right here, under your tackle!
"Karkat?"
"Nepeta. Holy shit."
"The holiest."
So when this happens, you heard that the first thing to do is check if you... Yaknow, did the thing with the thing and the pail. You both still had on pants. Good. So next is to either run or not and frankly you wonder how you could even run in this situation. Not physically, necessarily, though you doubt you could actually run, but why would you run from such a great opportunity? Curse the ring, curse the fact that you just probably had sloppy make outs and you had just slept in the same bed. This was something that might never happen again. Meeting someone you know on this planet of 7 billion. Meeting THE one on a planet of 7 billion.
Fuck. This is all starting to sound like one of the romcoms you both love.
You didn't mind though.
(Planning on continuing)
