Life Sucks: Chapter 1
Kaiena cursed as she looked out of her window. It was a Full-Moon out. That's when all the demons came into their small village on the sea. The people here were poor, barely getting by. And Kaiena, as well as her younger sister, San, presence didn't help matters. They were, as the villagers put it, the most useless, disagreeable, hate-filled children they had ever seen.
Their parents had died when they were very young. And ever since then they had lived in this village, dubbed as Umi Village. It was hard on them, as Kaiena had to do work as her sister was too young (only six). Kaiena was seven.
The Moon was suddenly hidden behind some clouds, snapping the girl out of her thoughts. 'This is bad,' she thought.
"San, get up!" she yelled, getting to her feet. The younger girl sat up from the bed of their small shack-like house. "What?" "The Moon's covered! We need to hide!" Kaiena yelled, getting from her place by the window.
But before they could get anywhere, the door burst open. Two figures stood, their eyes gleaming. The first, who had crimson eyes, smirked. "Such stupid human children. Like we wouldn't find you." He sneered. "Now the newest slaves for our…pleasure." Kaiena, being a naive child, didn't understand what he was talking about. She just went in front of her sister.
The other figure with golden/amber eyes walked forward. "Hm… Cute." He muttered, looking at San. "You stay away, you filthy demon." Kaiena growled lowly. The first demon laughed coldly at her. "I'm taking her. She might actually be playful." "That doesn't bother me, Hiei." The fox replied, smirking. San looked around, obviously afraid. "I-I'll do anything! Please don't hurt my sister." She cried, small tears rolling down her face. Hiei's smirk deepened. "That can be arranged."
