(Author note - This a spin-off of my other story "Let Your Walls Crumble." Akaashi was left heartbroken and I just couldn't leave him that way. He's too great for that, so I decided to give him a different love interest. Hope you enjoy and please feel free to leave any feedback. It is appreciated. Thank you! disclaimer - I do not own Haikyuu)

Bokuto Yui is tiny and adorable. She has long silver hair and round golden eyes. She is the resident Chibi-Kuto for the Fukuradoni boys' volleyball team. She also has a secret. She's head over heels in love with her cousin's best friend, Akaashi Keiji.

"Hey Akaashi I was thinking about joining the boys' volleyball team as a manager… you know now that Shirofuku is gone… do you mind?" Yui looked up hesitantly at the boy laying on the floor reading. Her face taking on a slight pink hue.

"That sounds fine" he said indifferently never taking his eyes off of his book.

Yui let out her breath before turning her attention back to her own book.

It wasn't uncommon for them to hang out at each other's houses. They were in the same year and would study together. It wasn't like Yui was stupid, but Keiji had better grades and had volunteered to help her. She probably didn't need the help, but there was no way in hell she was going to turn down an offer from Keiji. Nope never.

Her eyes fluttered back to him. She was laying on her bed on her stomach. Her feet lightly kicking at the air above her. She watched as his blue-green eyes skimmed the pages in front of him under long black eyelashes. He was also laying on his stomach using his elbows to support him which made his arm muscles bunch at the pressure. His lower back was dipped as his stomach pressed into the floor.

She bit her lower lip staring at him before shoving her bright red face into the soft bed beneath her. Comfortable silence filled the room. Once she had calmed her racing heart she peeked at him again. Nope. He hadn't noticed and was still reading. She sighed before turning back to her own book.

Coach Yamiji looked down at the tiny silver haired girl in front of him as she asked to be a manager. Her round golden eyes looking hopeful. Pink dusting on her pale cheeks. He looked at her fondly. Of course he said yes. She had fluttered around the gym enough these last 3 years that he didn't see a difference. Except this time he could actually put her to work.

Yui was watching the boys practicing. Most of the starting team had left last year except for Keiji and Wataru. A couple of the other existing members were excited to finally get a chance to stand on the court and they were throwing everything they had into practice. The first years were enthusiastic and full of energy. She smiled fondly. Kotaro would have loved to see this.

"God I'm so happy that you decided to join us. I can't imagine trying to keep this lot in check without some help" Kaori spoke up next to her which caused her to squeak and jump in surprise.

Kaori let out a little chuckle as the tinier girl next to her blushed. She still couldn't believe that this timid girl was related to the loud boisterous Kotaro.

"…I'm happy to be here. T-thanks for accepting me" Yui said in a tiny voice as she took the water bottles being handed to her.

She looked up at the tall girl next to her. She had light brown hair and freckles dotted her face. Yui liked Kaori. She was nice and always smiled warmly at her.

The girls handed the water bottles out to the boys as they jogged over for a break. Of course Yui would offer Keiji a water bottle and of course Keiji would take it. His sweaty fingers trailed against her hand as he grabbed the water bottle. Electricity ripped through her veins.

Keiji didn't seem to notice. She watched as he tipped his head back and his mouth circled around the bottle. She watched as his Adam's apple moved up and down as he drank. Her face slowly turning into a tomato in the process.

Her lustful thoughts were interrupted by a large sweaty hand ruffling her hair. She broke her gaze from Keiji and looked up in annoyance at the tall figure next to her. Wataru laughed at the angry glare he was receiving.

"Thanks for all of your help today Chibi-Kuto" he beamed down at her pouting face. "Although are you coming down with something? Your face was bright red a moment ago."

"What? No I'm fine. Really I'm fine" she said flustered.

Keiji looked at the two curiously. Yui made eye contact with him. Calm blue-green meeting round excited gold.

"See look your face is turning red again. Are you sure you're ok?" Wataru said with concern.

"Fine" she mumbled tearing her gaze from Keiji and focusing on helping the rest of the team with whatever they needed.

The rest of practice went fine and so did clean up. During all of it, Yui's eyes most certainly did not follow a certain tall setter with fluffy black hair. Nope not at all.

The team walked together for a while until the members slowly broke away from each other moving off to their own homes. Eventually it was just Keiji and Yui walking side by side. His hand holding onto the strap of his bag. Yui looked at the bag with a frown. It appeared there would be no accidental hand brushing tonight.

"Kuto-chan your parents are working late tonight right?" Keiji asked.

"Yeah" she responded.

"Do you want to come over for dinner? I'm sure my mom wouldn't mind and Kana and Kiko have been asking when you were going to come back over and play with them."

"Sure" Yui responded trying to sound casual. Of course she would say yes. When had she ever said no to Keiji? Probably never.

Kana and Kiko tackled her when they saw her. All three girls ended up being sprawled on the floor. A smooshed Yui underneath the weight of the two girls. Kana was thirteen and Kiko was ten and combined they weren't exactly light. The small silver haired girl beneath them was struggling for air. Unfortunately for her Keiji did not come to her rescue and continued onto his room.

"Girls you are literally killing me" she wheezed.

They quickly scrambled off of her and smiled delightedly. Kana stood up first and reached a hand out to her. Even though Yui was quite older than her, the girl was quickly catching up in height. As Yui looked at the black haired youth with twinkling blue eyes she smiled. Kana was going to be tall and beautiful one day. Boys would definitely be coming to her rescue if she was ever being smooshed to death.

"We've really missed you" Kiko said as she wrapped her arms around Yui's waist. Yui smiled fondly. At least she was still quite a bit taller than a ten year old. Kiko had wild curly black hair and had the same eyes as Keiji. While Kana might be beautiful, Kiko was adorably cute and full of energy.

"I've missed you too girls."

"Are you done killing Kuto-chan yet?" Keiji made his way back into the room.

"We would never kill our Kuto-san. She's too adorable for that" Kana said casually grabbing onto the silver haired girl's hand before dragging her away to their room.

Yui spent the evening playing with the two girls in their room. She didn't mind not being able to spend time with Keiji. She loved the two girls in front of her. They were like her own sisters and their happy babble was contagious.

After dinner they were all sitting in the living room watching some kind of anime that was on. Yui couldn't really focus on anything else except for the feeling of Keiji's fingers working through her hair as he braided it. It wasn't that unusual of a thing to happen. Once the girls roped him into doing something for them like hair braiding, they always made sure that he did the same for Yui. They didn't want her to feel left out.

His fingers slowly caressing her scalp and the slight tugging on her hair left her tingling with enjoyment. She had to physically keep her mouth shut in case any embarrassing noises wanted to try to crawl out. Her eyes were shut lightly and she was grateful the lights were dim to help hide the blush on her face.

She ended up staying the night. The extra futon pulled out and settled into the girls' room. She snuggled up into the blanket. Her hand played with the braid in her hair as a smile crept along her face. Her thoughts only focused on one person who was sleeping soundly in his room. She would confess to him this year before it was too late, but she was scared. What if he didn't feel the same way? She twirled the end of the braid in her fingers. If he didn't feel the same, there wouldn't be any more braids. She rolled over hiding her face in the pillow.
