The Aurora
AN: Hmm well I wrote this when I was 13 years old in an English exam. So it's probably not going to be that great, but I just thought I'd upload it. It's basically about a girl called Cassandra and it is her first trip to see the Northern Lights. One shot. Also I think it would be called AU because it doesn't really follow the story of the books. Ok here goes..
The Aurora
Cassandra hesitated to wonder outside in the freezing cold weather around the North Pole. Wrapping herself up in furs, she glanced towards the illuminating sky, which was adorned with waves of greens and indigos.
She sank back resting on her delicate hands and gazing up at the sky with wonder "How on Earth, could something as beautiful be here when in other countries, things like war are taking place?"
Cassandra felt the wind whip around her maroon coloured hair and sank under the awe of an amazing event, letting herself forget about any dangers it might have held ( AN: I have no idea what I was going on about here.)
As she watched the regular tide of coloured waves in the ebony sky, her imagination ran with them, and her heart pounded with excitement as she waited for the next tide of colour to wash into the sky.
A few hours had passed and she felt safe and comfortable in the silent stillness and peacefulness of the night, letting herself be swept away by the waves with amazement.
Cassandra used her noise to sniff around like a dog, wondering who had broken her concentration, until the familiar smell of fish warmed her nostrils, and she saw her dad, walking out with a plate of salmon.
Gratefully and hurriedly she took it and ate a minute amount (AN: Hmm me thinks scarce would have been better) leaving the rest; anxious to get back to the sky.
Her dad wrapped a warm arm around her and she smiled to herself, being amazed and enthralled by the tidal waves of colour that swept her away.
AN: Well that's it.. Just so you know my writing has improved a lot in the year. Please review I'd like to know what people think of it..
